Dont worry about the balance either. Your not putting in something like a 2.5 jo bahut farq aey.

A18 lainey say behtar rebuild your current engien.

    Sir why is that?

and he will run the B16 on CNG to pull the Accord and rev the engine to 6,000 RPM?

I don't understand why some people underestimate a16a1 its the best carb engine of its time. I had same accord in one of its kind condition. Touched 165km with 6 persons with luggage.
I know overhauling this engine costs too much now and everyone suggest you to go for swap.
Best engines you can get are
    a18a,a20a(carb),a20(efi)
    b18 non vtec
    f18 of 94 accord.
    d15b vtec

don't go for b16 as its a performance engine will cost you more with average CNG performance.

Im surprised no one has recommended an H22a? Get a jdm one in and feel the power. It should be a relatively easy swap in your car as well.

Bro, Not everyone is into racing. Look at petrol's rate and you want him to get a h22 in about 200k and put a CNG in it and get 70,80km in one tank?

Sir D15B VTEC is short of torque.

F18A is a good choice but expensive and will drink more fuel.

    F18B is not available.

H22A is one hungry beast, engine bay is too short for it and it will surely flex the chassis, again too expensive and no return on investment.

So as I said earlier, A16A1 is best for local conditions, overhauling is also very simple and it is one tough and reliable engine.

All other VTEC and large displacement incarnations from Prelude and Civic sounds very good to ears but they have 0 practicality.

the usual cause is badly installed timing belt - the crank TDC mark is on the flywheel and not on the little timing belt gear on the crank

    engine swap for 87 accord?? - img0572yj2

this is the 1986 Honda Accord Si Engine - only came in JDM and EDM models

This engine puts out 160ps - Ive installed this in an Accord in Pakistan - damn it was sweet - Torque torque and torque - with no induction roar because of the twisted inlet manifold - I also had found the original exhaust box for this engine, its quite something from inside - After that the roar was more at the exhaust like a Benz does

Dude just get a d15b vtec. It'll be little less torque but nothing to worry about. wayy better than a rebuilt engine. just my 2 cents.

Sir that is the B20A2, long stroke.

Seen one in my childhood, it is the second one which I have seen since then.

The EDM B20 was 137PS, while I have only seen the third B18 130PS JDM, dual carb at SherShah for 70K 7 years ago and I am pretty damn sure that it will not be available anywhere else in Pakistan because of it having no application.

Cannot you get your hands on a A16 or A18, in case if you do not want to rebuild the engine?

the swap cost I cannot point out - but to do a complete and nice swap you would need the black vacuum pipe box that you can see on the side of the picture, your accord would have 2 screw fittings on the left corner of the engine room - the box mounts on those.

Inside the box are the map sensor, assorted idle up vacuum switches, timing advance vacuum solenoid and baromatic pressure sensor
