Default Accord 2003 CL9 - Drive has gone horrible =/

    Hey guys,

I have owned this accord for 6 years now. It came with Bridgestone Potenza tires, but in December of 2006 I got Direzza DZ-101 215/50/R17 which was the stock recommended size (I think).

I used to keep the psi on these at 30 uniform. I think i've driven these tires about 15-20,000 kms, only within Karachi. And my driving style is slightly aggressive.

Now the ride in my car has become horrible. I feel bumps and the overall ride is very uncomfortable as compared to before. I think its starting to have an affect on other parts as I can hear other parts of the car making noise.

I have gotten alignment checked and balancing checked.

    1) Who is the most knowledgeable guy in Karachi to goto for alignment and balancing? In case it wasnt done properly.

    2) Are the tires finished?

    3) Could it be out of shape rims (I have not checked for this)

    4) Could it be something on the car (suspension, shocks etc)

The mileage on the car is 49000km. I bought it when it was 20-21000km (it wasn't driven in Pakistan).

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Regards,

    Zeeshan.

It's possible that your suspension bushes are worn out

Do note that 5 year old tyres SHOULD be changed anyways.

The problems that you are facing are because of the low profile of the tires, i know the car comes with 215/45/R17 but that's in japan where the roads are as smooth as silk, here in karachi the drive does become horrible with such low profile tires. I have a cl9 too with currently 215/55R16 yokohama dbs on it and the drive is on the stiff side as the tires are low profile plus accord's suspension is by default stiff so that's the reason you enjoy driving it on smooth roads while on bad unpaved surfaces it feels horrible.

I had put 205/60R16 dunlop lemans on the accord which were taken off from my civic 07 and the drive got very soft for the time i had them on the car whereas the drive of my civic got very hard.
VTEC did not kicked in ooooo

Thanks a lot guys! I will get my suspension bushes checked tomorrow and also look into changing the tires.

You guys think 15-20000 kms are enough for the direzzas on Khi roads?

Also which would the best tires to replace the direzzas with? I was thinking Continental ContiPremium Contact 2 205/60/16 96V.

    What do you guys suggest?
