Default Restoration Project - Honda Accord 1984

    Dear All,

I am new on Pak Wheels. Wanted to share the restoration project of Honda Accord 1984. The car in question is owned by the family for quite some time now. It has done over 200,000 Km and is still running smoothly. However, the body had recently undergone major restoration, which I'm sharing.

Break Lights, Side view mirrors, hockeys for the front bumper and the door moldings were bought from Magzine Line from various shops. Master switch for power windows was bought from the market adjacent to the Magzine Line. Sorry, cannot remember the names of the shops.

The cost for all the genuine parts:

    1. Break Lights - Rs. 2,250/- each
    2. Hockeys for front bumper - Rs. 300/- each
    3. Door Molding - Rs. 450/- each (03 purchased)
    4. Master Switch - Rs. 900/-
    5. Side view mirror - Rs. 250/- each (the originals were intact but purchased as it seems a good deal )

Total purchases from Magzine line Rs. 7,250/-

I got lucky for the master switch as it is not available in the market.

Most of the parts did not required replacements. For the parts that were replaced, I got lucky. The genuine parts are really hard to find. There are some parts available in the market of Taiwan origin but I replaced the parts with genuine Honda parts (used but in very good condition).

Usually, the prices are high of new Taiwan Honda parts. If one is going for used parts then its total bargain.

The floor shows that most of the damage was on the body.

    A wonderful project !

It's good to see someone restore a Second Generation Accord here, otherwise people don't dare spend money on these with the mindset that "These cars are too hard to maintain" or "Parts are too expensive and rare" Restoration Project - Honda Accord 1984 - mad 263

The outcome seems good, keep posting pictures and feel free to contact me for any advice or help needed anytime as I've kept a 3rd Generation Accord and fully restored it Restoration Project - Honda Accord 1984 - rock

The most expensive purchase in the whole project. The shairshah vendor asked Rs. 35,000/= for the nose cut. But thanks to outstanding negotiating skills of my friend Zeeshan we got the cut for Rs. 13,500/- only.
