Default Engine Oil for Old Cars

I have 92 accord with JDM 2000 Accord Engine. Engine is in good nick thanks to Allah. I was wondering what oil is best for it. Searching thread was helpful but they were for new cars xli/gli etc. I have questions

    1. Use Mineral Oil if yes which company
    2. Use Synthetic Oil and which grade
    3. Is it better to have shorter drainage periods or longer periods with synthetic oils.......
    4. Please suggest best Oil Company.... heard shell ultra is best according to @Xulfiqar https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/oil...-2#post4227287
Personally i am biased towards Synthetic Oil. Someone said in Pakistan there is alot of dusts so its better you drain your oil frequently. Dont know how legitimate is this.

Well I also have gone through much of similar stuff.
But most of it is surplus (just like the way Zulfiqar reply the posts). The basic stuff to remember is quite less.
I have it in hard copy, but I usually read it after my office hours

    OMG.
This engine oil is for Diesel engines. Right?
Also the specs and approval readings seems very old.
If need sj grade oil, then why not LM molygen 5/50 which is fully synthetic with good characteristics?

Simply Go For What Owners Manual Say .....

I Don't Know WHY People Ask Millions Of Question Here For Every Single Thing And Simply Just Don't Hunt For Engine's Manual And READ The DAMN Recommendations There ...Its As Simple As Reading ' How To Put AAA Battery In Your TOY'

Match The OIL And Recommended Ratings ON It.....Hunt For Genuine OIL...Havoline , LM , Fuchs Are All GOOD To Go....!!

But I think its weird. It has to be of metal at-lest for more safety.
so you would be more comfortable in buying an entire new filter housing if your mechanic breaks it off? The plastic cap is cheaper and if for some reason it doesnt come off you can easily break it off and install a new one.

If you had a full metal one you will break the entire casing mount - and that is a very expensive item.

I see the anti drain back - but where is the bypass valve? or is is just relying on that little coil spring to keep the poorly stuffed cartridge in place.

All the specs written on it are for diesel BUT - it also is fleet oil. thats why it has the API SJ rating too. Keep it simple no need to spend heavy money where its not required.

btw - this oil will really clean out your engine. It tends to keep particulate trapped in itself. So make sure the engine runs at normal temperature.

isn't it a by pass valve in the third picture down there? there is a sort of valve down there which moves with the spring
