Default 2008-2012 Hona Accord Owners please help...

2018-2012 Honda Accord owners please share driving experience of your cars. I recently purchased a 2012 accord with 50k on the clock. I am not much satisfied with the drive as the engines feels heavy as if i am driving a diesel engine car and gear shift is also not very smooth specially at low rpm's. On lower rpm when the gear changes, the engine takes a hiccup and leans back a little which is very annoying.

I want to know if its a normal thing with this car or my car has some problem which needs to be fixed. I went to honda service centre but they said your car is ok but i am not satisfied personally. I feel they dont want to entertain the problem as the car is still under warranty and it will cost them eventually if any trouble is found.

I really appreciate your valued opinions and suggestion.

    Regards.

Do the following things, hope it will help:

    1. Check oil level of Auto Transmission
    2. Check Spark Plugs
    3. Check throttle body may be it requires service
    4. also check the injectors, may be need to clean

I also got same problem in my corolla but its manual, I changed the spark plugs and service the throttle body and ALHAMDULILLAH all problems gone... mine was like am driving tractor, too much heavy and you cannot believe car got pic at the time when I fully press the accelerator to floor...

Definitely your car has got some issues. None of the issues you have mentioned are experienced by me on any of the Accords I have driven.

Brother I can assure you that very few people here would have to share their experience with you since this car costs here north of 11 M PKR.

I have owned every Accord from the 1966 3 door hatchbook 1.6L to 7th Gen JDM CL9 but I may not own this one for the coming decade.

BTW have u switched your car from Nissan Altima or any V6 ?

    @bradpit

I switched from Nissan Tiida 1.8 to this honda accord. I have never driven a V6 so i was expecting better performance and power but this is turning into a disappointment as the drive of the accord is rough. But as faisalayub bro advised, i am going for the car service lets see if things improve.

You havent mentioned if yours is a 4 Cylinder 2.4 or a V6 3.0. However, whichever it is, you look like another victim of Honda Drive By Wire (DBW) system. It has an inherent lag in it, so throttle response is never going to be lightning fast. Also, since the gear shift is optimized somewhere between performance and economy, it does actually get the car thinking if you floor the pedal all of a sudden. First the car tries to pull without changing the gear, making use of engine torque, and 99 percent of the times it can't. After that it downshifts and there you go! A huge surge of power enough to launch the car into space, and all you're trying to do is get past a slow moving vehicle decently.

The suspension is pretty hard. In fact really hard. In fact, sports car category hard. It will let you know about each and every bump and pothole you hit or miss. And it will sway you from left to right if you encounter a speed bump diagonally.

I'm sure you did not have any of these problems in your Tiida. Thats because it actually didnt have these problems. It is quick, responsive and comfortable, and despite your elevated expectations, the Accord would certainly disappoint you in all these ways because thats how it is built. Theres nothing wrong with your car, get it serviced, change the lubricants, do whatever, your driving experience will remain the same.

I got my car serviced from honda service centre. There is improvement and it drives better now but problem of sudden acceleration is still there. Can anybody tell if its due to vtec technology or something else. When i accelrate my car its speed will not increase quickly but after few seconds it will get a boost of power and speed. This is irritating sometimes.

When you floor it.. Do you think the lag is because of car shifting down in a lower gear ? Cuz that's what it sounds like
Its not VTEC problem . that's for sure.

I think when you are flooring the car in 5th gear its shifting down to 3rd or 2nd gear and that's where the lag is coming from..
    Ur car is fine

its just that engine power unfolds with delay. And i donot floor it the accelerator pedal is just halfway through. It becomes a disappointment in some kind of traffic scenerios when u need sudden accelration.

Just take another ride. When u press the accelerator if your rpm jumps during that delay period means your is shifting down to lower gear..
Nothing to worry About .. that's how automatics with 5 or 5+ gears behave ..
