Thread: Accord 88 Engine Swap

    Default Accord 88 Engine Swap

    AOA
    Guyz i recently gave my accord for complete engine overhaul but unfortunatley the block has a crack n crank canot be replaced as the engine was built already couple of times...
    Have searched alot to get the OEM engine in shershah but clndt find it so now i have no other option than swap

    NOW THE SWAP
    Now the real thing is m planning a swap on it
    engine i m considering keeping my budget in mind is D15B Dual VTEC
    The car chasis is solid as the engine is out of the car now n evrything is clear to me....

    Things m confused with are
    1 will the swap be sucessful as this accord has its engine rite in the center of the engine bay
    2 Will the chasis be altered for mounts n is it worth it?
    3 Will wiring make an issue as the car is Carb n the engine i willl be getting will b efi with an ecu

    UR suggestions will be very helpful guyz
    Speacially
    People who have done swaps n knw where to get the rite engine in what price

    P.S: I bought this accord for getting luxury n no doubt m really happy with the drive of her its way awesom n m not going to sell it.

    sorry guyz the pipe is 2inch over all from the outer dia
    inner will be smaller than that..
    As far as loss of torque is no way the low end torque has gone though i havnt tried any limits yet as the engine needs sm running ..
    Will push it hard 1nc the 1st oil change is done till then no hard foot...

    Its supposed to use a 2 inch pipe till the first resonator then a 1.8 inch pipe till the back.

    .. @ drug mafia

    those have to be the worst exhaust pipe bends I have seen, the guy simply folded the pipe onto itself?

    i dont think that engine needs any running you can just do two quick oil change and you are good to go ... just my opinion ...

    Ok so will get the pipes nicely done later..
    The car is running perfect sm e work needs to be taken care off els everything is Mashallah good
    Will post the pics of the car soon inshallah

    Engine needs an oil change so need that after it wil give it a run for testing the capability
    @ALL
    The break booster n break cylinder is changed as the previous one had a bad oil symptom of faulty cylinder so changed both ...
    Ac work need to be done ina day or 2

    Got the oil changed @experts
    Guyz m havng a slight problem since a day or 2 whn I start the car after ignition self her the engine oil light comes on till arroubd 3 secs
    Is there smthng I shld worry as my city 02 doesnt have this once I self the car the engine oil lights goes off imegiately but in my accord its remains on for arroubd 3 secs

    Oil not circulating properly ..do chk the oil pressure + r u sure all electrical s r ok ?

    Oil used is caltex formula

    Though the oil light some times goes off on the first ignition n smtines it goes off after hardly 2 or 3 secs

    The thnv that is bothering me is the cng guy has set the cng settting through distributor by advncng the timing
    As he said tge car has an after mrket intake so to mke it run properly both on cng n petrol its usually done through this
    The thng i need to knw is tht is it ok like ghis to run the engine on advnc setting?

    Get an original Honda oil filter, and just for the heck of it, check if the oil pan is straight or bent. The oil light thing happened to me, turned out the oil pan was bent right below the oil pick up, thanks to some ustaad who changed the clutch and placed a jack under the oil pan to support the engine.

    Ok so heres the thibg the time i got the engine the chamber had a dent on it so tarique bjai took it off n took the dent out n said its good to go i guess thats the reason behin this

    Dont advance it thru distributor it should be advanced with the advancer from cng system ..did u intalled it ? on electronic fuel injected systems the cng kits used advancer ....which cng kit u r using with this system ? it must be an efi kit
