    Default Accord 88 Engine Swap

    AOA
Guyz i recently gave my accord for complete engine overhaul but unfortunatley the block has a crack n crank canot be replaced as the engine was built already couple of times...
Have searched alot to get the OEM engine in shershah but clndt find it so now i have no other option than swap

    NOW THE SWAP
Now the real thing is m planning a swap on it
engine i m considering keeping my budget in mind is D15B Dual VTEC
The car chasis is solid as the engine is out of the car now n evrything is clear to me....

    Things m confused with are
1 will the swap be sucessful as this accord has its engine rite in the center of the engine bay
2 Will the chasis be altered for mounts n is it worth it?
3 Will wiring make an issue as the car is Carb n the engine i willl be getting will b efi with an ecu

UR suggestions will be very helpful guyz
    Speacially
People who have done swaps n knw where to get the rite engine in what price

P.S: I bought this accord for getting luxury n no doubt m really happy with the drive of her its way awesom n m not going to sell it.

btw - the correct term is "FLY" wheel not "FRY" wheel. install a New clutch and pressure plate along with new bearing.

Is deglazing same as honing? If not then what are conditions that we go for deglazing only and not honing?

you can find that pipe in the scrappies who have the fuse box, its held on by a stiff wire clip and is quite difficult to remove too. It only takes a little time to find such items.

yes - its the same job but in honing you actually finish by removing quite a bit material, in deglazing you are just removing the glassy polished surface - we dont want glassy polished surface.

What i think is D15 is under power for this heavy car.

D17A1 has more torque and it comes earlier, i.e. @ 4500 RPM. You need torque to move that heavy car. Also, the D15B that you've compared it with is a single VTEC. Numbers for the dual VTEC are different.

Why deglaze man........... @Xulfiqar why are we not after shiny smooth surface inside cylinder? shiny surface to me it sounds less friction and less micro-level wells.

on the other hand rough surface would facilitate more surface area but that would be negligible. Please enlighten me

It is done in a way that the bore has an approximately 45 degree cross hatch pattern which is essential to hold engine oil for lubrication and for the seating of the piston rings as the cross hatch provides friction

Yes indeed. how would one ensure that the engine sitting there is good. I have seen the treatment they give to junkyard engines. Petrol wash etc. Few days back one was cleaning the nissan engine and when he blew pressurized air into place where plugs were installed (after removing plugs) wo ho ho hoooo fountain of rust
