    Default Accord 88 Engine Swap

    AOA
    Guyz i recently gave my accord for complete engine overhaul but unfortunatley the block has a crack n crank canot be replaced as the engine was built already couple of times...
    Have searched alot to get the OEM engine in shershah but clndt find it so now i have no other option than swap

    NOW THE SWAP
    Now the real thing is m planning a swap on it
    engine i m considering keeping my budget in mind is D15B Dual VTEC
    The car chasis is solid as the engine is out of the car now n evrything is clear to me....

    Things m confused with are
    1 will the swap be sucessful as this accord has its engine rite in the center of the engine bay
    2 Will the chasis be altered for mounts n is it worth it?
    3 Will wiring make an issue as the car is Carb n the engine i willl be getting will b efi with an ecu

    UR suggestions will be very helpful guyz
    Speacially
    People who have done swaps n knw where to get the rite engine in what price

    P.S: I bought this accord for getting luxury n no doubt m really happy with the drive of her its way awesom n m not going to sell it.

    ok buddy willl inshallah get these mounts on rear n timing side its ok to pay bit more to get better drive..
    Will go tomorow n tell the fabricator for the oil mounts......
    N plz tell me which ecu shld the car have wherease the ecu currently is P08
    what other thngs are to be considered?

    No buddy this Tarique is smart guy young too fair colour Height arround 5.6 hairs are bit curly not alot...

    The Khyber's been there for maybe 2 weeks. And I'm no expert, just a novice like everyone else. I'll be there this week probably.

    P08 is for D15b are you swaping in D17A? I recommend you to go for D17A. I have driven same accord with D17A its torquy.

    ECU code for Manual D17A is 37820-PLM-006. First portion 37820 is same for almost all hondas. Next is the real thing you should look at. Next shows if car is auto or manual. If numbers are in 900 series its for auto and you would see extra connector for transmission.

    Make Double Sure if you go for Manual you get Manual ECU and if you go for Automatic you get Automatic ECU.

    What i have seen in many cars D17A was swapped with old kick down cable instead of its own. Go for orignal Auto transmission. No compromise on ECU and Transmission.

    Before buying Engine check if there is oil present in transmission if yes its color should be RED nothing other than that

    buddy the engine i bought is d15b single vtec
    Ecu is p08 n transmission is manual so which ecu shld the car have with manual tranny
    N yes how to knw the engine condition ?

    do a compression test and oil pressure test with 5w30 oil in the sump

    met a guy today at nomis shop he was impressed by the engine cndition n said the engine has much more with it too axcels condensor uncut wiring exhaust V n he saw the engine by opening the oil cap n said the engine is in very good nick

    Man not to disappoint you but see MAP broken at Throttle body. This is old one you should have gone with D17A or D15B that came in 2005 civic. This one is with distrubutor. You should have gone with igniton coils one. If I was you I would see if person from who I purchased the engine would allow me to exchange this with D17A new technology.

    both TPS and MAP are snapped off. The timing belt sticker is applied - meaning it already has clocked over 100,000 kms

    Jst googled the sensors u mentioned i think they can be replaced with new ones wont be a big issue i wll ask the person who gave me the engine for replacement of MAP N TPS sensors

    what price difference are you looking at? and consider the wise words of Zulfiqar Bahi. If you are doing complete homework you better do it right. If your mechanic is happy with the engine condition think again........... TPS costs 1500. MAP Costs 2000 and IAT again 1000 so think wise.
