Can you go for a 330d?
The torque in that is amazing!
Go for the bimmer though. Personally i have never driven an audi but i feel or have been led to believe that the driving pleasure in a bimmer goes Un-rivaled.

All of these cars are wonderful cars no doubt about it. I think it is a wrong decision to rely on what we say are, frankly speaking all of these cars are different and would suit different personalities and you'll be merely confused by the amount of different votes.
Nevertheless i will give you my opinion and i hope it helps:

If you're looking for reliability and expect the car to age and take the everyday beating without skipping a beat then Honda accord will be a wise choice. i dont know much about the drive of the Accord... I'm sure there are many Accord boys on pakwheels and they'll help you out here.

If you're looking for a comfortable cruiser with bit of luxury, expect a soft ride, and your driving style is sophisticated and not very sporty then Audi A4 will provide for your requirements.

I dont know much about hot hatches as i have not driven any or know anyone who owns one so i cant say about A3.

Now for my personal favorite from the list the BMW 320d. It is a car which is a perfect blend of sportiness and qualities of a comfort cruiser. It loves going fast and handles much beter than other cars you mentioned in your list. if you want a bit of a sporty recipe than BMW without a shadow of doubt will be best (note that i dunno about A3).
But keep in mind that BMWs are plagued with electronic problems and please do a thorough inspection of the car especially check all windows fuction properly and all the door locks function without a hitch. it is wise to keep about 1000 pounds extra if you are considering buying the bimmer to spend on the car and get everything checked up and sorted out.

    Hope this helps...

    thx alot everyone

i might go for a bmw. but the thing i hate abt them is tht from 99late till mid 2005 bmw had the same shape. i was on test drive and surely loved the bmw 320d. but wat i would say is tht overall comparison of the drive will bring the Audi A3 and A4 above BMW and accord.

    Audi A3 2005 cost 6200 pounds
    Bmw 320d cost 5600 pounds
    Audi A4 2004 cost 6200 pounds
Honda accord 2004 cost 5000 pounds

Go for Audi A4 or A3. Honda has few problems with Diesel engines but BMW 320d can cost you arm and leg if it goes wrong.

320d has a common fault of turbo going after about 100k plus miles. My friend (mechanic) told me too as my dad was thinking of getting one (costs about 1,500 pounds to replace the faulty bits and turbo)

Some links for you to support what I said:

    http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/bmw-t...oss-power.html

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...bhp-turbo.html

    http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/po...ex.htm?t=59196

    Hi,
I was wondering if anybody else has experienced a 01-02 BMW 320 Diesel turbo failure. Mine failed recently and in the process sucked all the oil from the sump and ejected it into the top of the engine and out through the exhaust. I was going less than 30mph at the time and the cloud of smoke ejected from the back end was like an f1 car blowing up. The garage says that it is a common fault and that as a result it needs an engine, turbo and probably cat. It is going to cost thousands. I have spoken with a few others on this matter and several people seem to know of other BMW's that have met the same fate, some only after low mileages.
    Anyone else know of any......?

    reply:

Yes, hundreds. Not just on the 3 series either. It's one of the common problems on BMW, that and the computer thingy, the name of which escapes me right now.
