Default Alto vs cultus (power comparison)

    hey guys,
i want know that which car is more powerful. The info that i found from this site is
    <table style="width: 520px; height: 79px;" id="TableCompare" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td class="headerSpecs">Power (PS@rpm)</td> <td align="center" valign="top">54.31[55.06] @ 5,500 (alto)
    </td> <td align="center" valign="top">60.35 [60.20] @ 6,000 (cultus)
    </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="headerSpecs">Torque ( Nm@rpm)</td> <td align="center" valign="top">83.4 [8.4] @ 2,500 (alto)</td> <td align="center" valign="top">78[7.8] @ 4,500 (cultus)
    </td></tr></tbody></table>
As per my knowledge alto delivers more torque at less rpms than cultus. so it should have more power than cultus.

Did you know that Alto was launched by Mazda as well under the name of Carol with a DOHC engine and its AWD version was advertised as a Mini-Offroader?

    @poster

According to the figures, Alto should beat cultus over smaller distances. Yup, torque is the force. It means alto should have better "pick" than the cultus. Lesser torque, harder to move in the first gear.

Well Yeah Alto has more torque so it means that even if u load the car fully wid 5 or 6 people
then it will work a lot better then cultus.....
all diesel cars have more torque so it means they r more capabe of carrying heavy loads then cars wid low torque.....
but IN terms of BHP the cultus gives a better package so it will knock down the alto in drag race....
and guess what The engine of Alto is the same one used in POTOHAR...

if i put a cold air intake system in the alto. how much horse power would i gain? would the top speed be effected as well? i mean in terms of numbers. would it go upto 150kph on cng ? as currently it only goes upto 130kph and 140kph on patrol.

    what does it mean anyway.
i already have two speakers of 480 watts. would adding two more effect the battery life of the car ? would it get ruined?

not more then 3hp..still it will effect in diffferent manner

if you have allowed alot of air then you may get good pick but low top speed...n vise versa

and its on petrol...on CNG u will have no power and will give you very bad economy

So in my opinion if both alto and cultus would have to on a hill station or lets say on an offroad journey, then alto would be MUCH more comfortable in climbing up the hills than cultus. but if these two cars decide to run a speed test, cultus having
    1- more rpms (alto - 5.5k , cultus 6k )
    2- more horse power at higher rpms (54.31[55.06] @ 5,500 (alto) , 60.35 [60.20] @ 6,000 (cultus) )
cultus would have more top speed on the longer run.

also if you check out these specs of a diesel vehicle, you ll find out that almost all of them generate more torque on low rpms.
bro agree with you yes alto has maximum torque on low rpm and cultus has on high RPM.....
and for yr info...the engine which is in alto f10 was designed for a 4x4 car....and is very old tech....so it performs like that ....having more torque bands on low RPM

but yet both engines have alot of things different ...and the figures you are telling are not the actual figures...may i know the source you are using

    as rozzz bhai said
    intakes r useless on cng!
instead if u want ur ride to b fast
dont have wide tyres or heavy rims
install good plugs n have direct piping
u`ll feel the difference as ur pick would b much better!

@Sarosh_Ather i am satisfied with the pick of alto but i am more of concerned with the top speed. will it gain top speed by putting gud plugs and direct piping? any drawback?

@rozzzzzz brother i found this info on this site when i was surfing thru. was curious so posted this question. btw i have both the cars. and in terms of moving the car from zero, i can personally feel the difference between the two. alto is better on hills.
