Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

if you are upgrading your tyres then why not go for a wider profile
since you drive fast and on long routes, u need grip and comfort both
    why not try 165/70/12.

DunLop Eco will give u the comfort and grip but its a soft tyre and has a tendency to get punctured easily
Whereas YokoHama S707 is comparitively harder and more robust
Bridgestone and Nexen are also good options but i havent used them on my car as yet

i recently installed bridgeston b70 in my cuore (155/70r12)
although the tire is soft but i dont like its grip. feels like car getting out of control at anything over 80kmph.
however i'd suggest u go for Yokohama S707 size (165/70r12) its an excellent tire
i'd say 165/70r12 is the ideal size for alto, & specially when u drive fast. its only a 0.2% difference then stock size, so it wont affect ur suspension or anything, & u'll enjoy enhanced grip.
btw i don't think there's any variety in the market in alto's stock size (IMO)
& whatever u do, stay away from Dunlop SP Sport 490, its a terrible tire, gets too many sidewall punctures

Also try MAXXIS, I have also heard good response for EURO GLIDE & KONTACT (local city driving),
If budget is not a problem, then go for Potenza, Pirelli

I second you, regarding bridgestone, heard that they are smuggled or expired tyres here in karachi markets, General tyres are still reliable, as they are manufactured here,

Grip is nothing here in Pakistan, Your car is for normal running, not for climbing a mountain that you need grip, nor you r a F1 racer....

dont know exactly about smugling but my experiences with dunlops were quite really bad ! they would have grip but the grip would have vanished during accident time

thnx to all for support and giving time to my thread. well the votes are for yokohoma.. the problem now is the size..i prefer the original size because i agree with HAALI grip is nothing for small cars. but its strange after reading remarks about dunlop. i was going for dunlop but now i will think about yokohoma tooo.
