Default Suzuki Alto Common Starting Problem on CNG when Engine is hot-Problem Solved!

    Asalam Alaikam,
    My dear Pakwheels brothers,
I hope you all are fine by the grace of Almighty Allah.

Here I am discussing a very common problem with Suzuki Alto.Almost every third Alto have this problem. The problem is that after driving the car for like 30 to 40 minutes, you park it and when you again start it,it will not start. The problem encounters only on CNG.

    Symptoms of this problem :-

    1. The car will not start on CNG when the engine is hot. After waiting for five to six minutes, the car will start.

2.If the problem is being ignored for a long period of time, then after some time you will here 'tick tick' sound from the CNG to petrol conversion kit.The car will not start in the case.Only solution is to convert the car to petrol and then start.

    How to Solve? :-

This is an electrical problem. The solution of this problem is to install a relay with the CNG kit for the direct flow of current to CNG kit from the battery.

I was facing this problem for a month.I read two to three threads about it.Today I installed the relay and the problem has now solved.

I wanted to share this problem with my brothers so that they can get rid of wannabe mechanics who dont know the real problem, rather they keep on wasting your money.

    Thank you.
    Have a nice day.

    I eat Volverine for breakfast.

The problem that i face on my Alto is a little bit different. It starts perfectly on CNG with half self with either a cold engine or a hot engine. But if i somehow miss the first self or i turn the ignition key on ON for long before starting, the car doesn't start at all unless i convert it on petrol or wait for 15mins.
IMHO, this is because of excess of CNG that runs in the cylinders and it is unable to ignite, or in other words, the car becomes "OVER".
A logical approach would be to control the flow of excess CNG.

a simple solution to this problem is ignite your car twice or thrice... and ur car will start within a second.. this is what i have been doing with my car since almost three years now..

@tayyab, do post up pics of the relay. Installing a relay of the CNG flow circuit of the kit seems plausible enough. I have many such relays on many circuits of Alto :-P

had this problem a long time ago in my corolla.

your kit still feeds cng even as you switch car off, thus the half key start at times.

the sensitivity screw setting on your cng regulator is too loose. its the small screw that cng mechanics use to control idle speed. its not for idle speed, its to set the sensitivity of the cng pressure reducer.

tighten that screw a little and it'll solve your problem.

but if your cng kit was opened and serviced and "tuned" by some cng mechanic then forget about it, theres half a dozen settings inside the kit and you need proper tools and expertise to set them properly. In that case i'd advise you to replace the regulator rather than spend time and money again and again to try get it repaired.

Actually, Relay provides the direct current to the CNG kit. So,it helps the car to start in a better way. That is what I know

It happens due to weak battery. I faced the same problem when my panasonic dry battery was about to die after serving me for 3 years. Changing the battery solved the prob

sometimes its the wiring and ground connections that're the culprit.

there is just an electric valve in cng kit that need current on open up the path for cng flow to crab.
did you drive your car at petrol after installing relay? any difference you felt in driving?
