BTW you don't need to see the RPM or the speedometer to change gears, you should go with the engine response.

whats the patriotic obsession of Pakistanis and top speed?

Car -1 completely hopeless janaaza with 23 mousepower engine made by someone called suzuki by underpaid and overworked labour.

top speed 200 km/h with no safety - (Pakistani car journalists on PW say = its the best, it rocks etc.)

car no. 2 a little less hopeless but obsolete janaaza with 25 mousepower engine, made by underqualified, slightly better paid workers.

top speed 160 km/h - (PW auto journalist says - its fail, kachra, headache)

completely oblivious of the fact that its a tin can ecnonobox, with no safety standards. - they just want to measure top speed - drag race and resale is everything that matters.

^amatuer drivers only think in terms of straight line and top speed.

better drivers can enter corners fast

    professionals exit corners fast.

sadly, i live among amatuers. this country need circuit tracks and professional trainers to get amatuers out from doing speed tests on speed limit roads.as long as we got young ppl in country we need to get them into some training.

half of population is not interested in theories taught in schools.

forget the stupid alto, get trained to drive a fast car and be a champ on circuit

    Dear Levin,

I heared from friends about the road grip of Alto VXR. They told me that it is not too good and not easly controllable after 100km/h. This is why i post this topic for colleing views and discussion.

Our first priority and lesson is care and safety.

    regards

    Shahid,

Can you please explain Gear Ratios and Speed of related gears?

Suzuki mention the following Gear Ratios.

    1st 3.416
    2nd 1.894
    3rd 1.280
    4th 0.914
    5th 0.757
    Reverse 3.583

What should be the speed of these ratios?

    Regards

I have been using it for 3 years now and quite satisfied with it,go for it you will not regret it.

Alto isn't a bad car at all.
It becomes bad when people drive Civics and Corollas and start expecting too much from an Alto.I have been using an Alto for three years without any major issue.I must admit that I am a bit lazy when it comes to maintaining the car because I am a student and don't get much time.Just because of this, I was facing some minor problems in the recent days but all the problems have been resolved now.

I am giving you some tips for maintaining Alto:-

    1. I have been using ZIC A-Plus in Alto from the day one and never changed the brand.Whatever the brand you choose, stick to it.Change the oil at maximum 2500km.Although,I flush mine at 2000.

2.Check airfilter from time to time and if it needs replacement, replace it.

3.Never give it in the hands of drivers. If you are yourself driving the car, then never abuse it.

4.On a bumpy, uneven road drive the car as slow as possible to avoid any suspension problem. Also, stick to the stock tyre size 145/80/R12.One step deviation in tyre size is no harm but stick to the stock rim size.

5.Drive the car on petrol for 20 to 25 km atleast once a week.

These are some really simple maintanence tips for Alto.Alto is a nice car but never expect too much from it.

As for the gear ratio is concerned,
    1st gear - 5km/h
    2nd gear- 10km/h
    3rd gear- 30km/h
    4th gear- 40km/h
    5th gear- 65 km/h

Keep this gear ratio from day one and you will enjoy a problem-free drive.

never ever ever ever try to achieve its top speed.btw it is around 120.
    pros:
    good economy on CNG
good for intra city driving due to small size
    I THINK NOTHING ELSE.
    cons:
    guzara brakes
    hard steering
gear changes not smooth(but u will get used to it)
    too much plastic

    No dude. I dont agree.
my car is touching 1lac km. i rev my car hard in first 3 gears.
    first gear 30-40
    2nd gear 60-70
    3rd gear till 110.
    fourth till 120-130.

My car is serving me like a new car MashAllah. No decrease in pick and performance of engine. Car is daihatsu cuore.
Just change fluids on time exact on 5k kms. get it properly tuned and keep ur air filter cleaned. This is what i do. and car is serving me good.

First gear 5km/h. Gari chalay gi b nae and it will knock badly. and miss on cng.
