Thread: Alto VXR FF CNG Advancer Problem

    Default Alto VXR FF CNG Advancer Problem

    I have Alto VXR(2006) 120k drivin with factory fitted CNG. My advancer becomes faulty and i need advice form Experts.
    According to mechanic it cant be repaired. He is asking 2000 for used one and 2800 for new one and according to him these are coming with FF kit of alto now a days.its wiring is a bit different and he needs to do some alterations in wiring to fit it.
    The one i was using(original landi renzo made in italy) is available in Rs.3700.
    i mostly drive on CNG
    please guide me what to do
    Buy used one and alter wiring cost Rs.2000
    Buy New one and alter wiring cost Rs.2800
    Buy new one same as previous cost Rs.3700

    please confirm prices or suggest any other CNG shop for 2nd opinion and repairing of previous advancer if possible.

    Go for the Original which comes with FF kit & dont let mechanic to play with original wiring.

    alto got advance r i didn't knew it and i suggest get the one which fits w/o alteratoin and new CNG kits are a bit different from old one get the original Landy rezeno one it ma be expencive but the mazdori ur mech will ask after fitting that of new kits toh utne mein he pare ga

    Even FF suzuki Bolan also have the advancer....(but actually it delays the timing instead of advancing it ...when you convert to petrol it retire the timing.)

    Deal is that my previous car had after market CNG kit and it had old button which has 3 settings i guess id didn't needed advanceer

    @ekdrifter

    Switch either old or new have nothing to do with advancer but its a must have thing for optimum ignition timing for both CNG & Petrol operation.

    @Joinami

    Yes. As practicaly it doesnt advance rather it retards the ignition timing.

    As Pakistani alto have F10 engine which requires timings to be at 8 degree advance on petrol. if you want to run it only on CNG then i suggest you to advance it timing to 15 degree and if your FF advancer is not working change its connector setting to emegency option . for this you have to remove the connector from the unit and put it on the 2nd connector which is covered with a rubber cap. and you will not need to change any wiring.

    Thanx to all for replying.
    i tried different shops in Model town/ johar town area but no one has it.they say they can arrange and it'll cost Rs.5500.
    According to my findings its its manufactured by AEB and the exact model is PLATINOS — AEB Alternative Fuel Electronics

    I'm thinking for used one now.

    @joinami i dont have emergency connecter so mechenic has directed it through wire.

    @fas133 bro can u please provide contact no of some shop.the one u mentioned in link was available and they are asking 2000 for it.I've also heard that repairing of faulty device if possible can be done from choburji

    Its not complicated to install.you check the above link for installation instructions.No more than 30 minutes required for installation

    i have alto vx 2007 with factory fitted cng, but didn't find it under hood. can you please describe its typical position in alto so that i can check if i had one??
    what if i haven't but wish to install, will i need to replace wiring or switch etc....?

    Default alto advancer

    i hve alto vxr (CNG),its advancer is not working. so the mechanic connects the cable in emergengy port, and direct it.
    Is it fine to drive a car in direct mode or shuld i buy new advancer??

    it can be repaired easily no programmed chip
    give it to to repair mechanic or any friend who is doing electronic business or studies
    from pic all of the components are hardly 100rs

    yes 100% agreed,
    from picture its parts are looking cheap,
    but i have asked its price from suzuki shop, they said that advancer is of 7000 rupees

    can you kindly share the source from which you get info about ignition timing...
