Most suzuki cars have this problem.
U need to slightly overfill the gear oil.
yep they are same from inside
yep 5 gears suzuki mostly have the same issue...but i dont agree with the over filling of oil...it is harmfulll for other things as i wrote before
^^^ Is the problem taken care ?
There is no harm in slightly overfilling - but need to overfill to the limit so gear box can breath easily, otherwise it will start leak.
There is a liqui moly gear box additive which can be use to reduce friction when cold.
Also it is better than using grease etc - it will reduce gear box life.
its improving with the daily running of the car that is around 50 to 60 km daily....also the weather is being changed and so....but after the 1st start in the morning or start after 5-6 hrs parked veh in any position...gear makes noises alot....in the mean time even with so much noise shifting of the gears is smooth in all gears and noise vanishes away in 20 - 25 min of drive or static/idle running....also the pick of the car is fine and improving after shifting to liqui moly gear oil.....yet the noise is still there:(
slightly over filling of oil is directly related to the viscosity of oil....liqui moly which i filled in is slightly viscous oil...so i filled around 2.25litres to 2.5 litres....when it got over flow i stopped it from further filling and it was too slow proccess...took around 2 hrs for that....yes i also added anti friction gears liqui moly additive 50 grams tube in it.....yet the noise is still there.....but may improve around 2 weeks passed
I say get it replaced from any person who deals in scrap/parts or new cars accident spares.
My Cultus did gave me a lil buzz on 5th gear,,,, went to my authorized dealer they reduced it but when Me alone and in 5th gear I hear the humming, my dealership says this is normal but I say no..... its something to be taken care.
I might replace the whole gearshift from shersha or will follow a friends advice to get it repaired from a reputed desi shop on jailroad karachi...... not this month hopefully in the start of April.
will be following your thread to get an idea for how we can come to solution of this glitch.
My Good Lucks with you

brother thanks alot......for ur wishes and helpfull comments...u know its very common issue of most of the 5 gear suzuki cars....and people are carried on living with it....even its started in very early stages of 5 gears suzuki cars...previously i observed it in khyber as well...hmmmm lets ccc what happen as the temperature is changing
^^^^ It starts in early stages aswell..... thats bad....... I am using mine since 2006...... and it started doing this last year.
and people are carried on living with it
hahahahha ..... these lines support Me that I am not the only one ....
you guys compromise and living with it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,why now operate it and change the roller bearing of 5th gear ,,,,,,,,,,it wont cost much and wont need much man hour
^^^^ I have this plan...... before I go for the replacements for the whole unit.
this roller bearing thing..... I will be discussing the posts here..... when ever I went for the repair
dear need 1 favour...has any1 replaced this mannual 5 gear transmission with auto ...if possible which cars auto gear fits on nut bolt to this 1000 cc engine of alto vxr?
i have discuss that with 2 mechanics/kharadiya who deal only in gears,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they say we can provide gear box but cant provide the wiring stuff,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,its not posible in cultus,,,,,,,,,,,
dear iam asking for alto...as the jap alto is having a/t so can that 660cc transmission be fitted to this 1000 cc car....??
is it possible?any one who had done this kindly share
yes it is posible ,,,,,,,,,i guess alto gear will be easily available,,,,,,one mechanic offer me to instal the alto auto transmission in cultus after some mofication,,,,,,,,i was not convinced by that idea
Generally the gear noise in winter is due to
A friend of mine had similar noise in VXR but later we found out that its not gear. We removed the a/c belt and its fine now (maybe we need to replace the bearing)
So first make sure that its gear noise and then make sure you filled it till recommended level. If these two are fine, replace the clutch bearing.
No need to add extra oil or grease.
dear any1 whome u know who has done it practically?
