    Default Alto problems......can someone help plz

    hello everyone i have bought a second hand 2001 Alto VXR cng 2 days before... but just after purchasing i realized that it is not picking up speed more than 80-90 KPh ... is this the total speed of a 5 year old alto on cng?...

    the car is also making horrible noise whenever i speed the car and on 80-90 speed it sounds as if some plane is on takeoff... its making more noise like a bike without silencor...

    thirdly the car is getting very much overheated too after i stop it.....

    plz can someone recommend any serious solution which i can do? im willing to spend decent money on that crap car but just want to get an estimate how much will it cost to rectify these three problems ...can someone plz guide?

    The CNG valve needs to be adjusted to release more gas than the existing...all the three problems indicates the same! Also do check the condition of exhaust muffler (Dholki)

    what type of missing?
    does it stall (engine feels like about to get off)? or it keeps on moving with jerks?

    u need to get a complete tune up (valve clearance adj etc),also check conditon of radiator/fan speed/air filter. check the tension of belt that drives water pump etc.

    btw change engine oil once u face over heating. and what do u mean by over heating, i mean does temp needle touch H/red zone.
    tune up'd cost u no more than Rs.300/-

    no ..the temperature needle doesnt touch H/red zone or comes close to H ...but when i stop the car the engine gets very hot even if i ride for just 5 mins and then it takes hours to cool down..

    @khurem:

    i fail to understand one thing, temp guage does not touch H/red zone but engine heats up, how can you judge that. engine tends to stall or what ?
    plz elaborate further so that some of us PW could suggest u something.

    how about sounds at ~80km/h speed, from engine or mechanical parts, if not from engine then might be from wheel bearings/gear box due to insufficient amount of gear oil. last but not least clutch plate has worn out, but this is all i am saying from top of my head, u have to specify exactly what u experience.

    @robin:

    The temp needle doesnt actually touch the H level but itcomes close to it in just 2-3 mins of driving ... but this overheating is not that big issue i guess coz the engine doesnt stall...

    but the main problem is the terrible noise of the engine whenever i speed the car over 60 ... the heavy sound is coming from the engine ... the same voice that u hear when a plane is taking off ...though the sound is not shrill but it's more grave than that... due to this noise i get fearful of increasing the speed of the car... and this sound is coming both on CNG and petrol so i guess its not due to CNG valve....

    Does the engine need an oil change? which one u recommend?
