Default Alto CNG pick up problem....

    A.O.A,

I purchased brand new Alto non-CNG version and then converted it on CNG from market after driving it for about 8000KM on petrol. Landi ranzo kit installed with 60L cylinder.

I am facing some issues. If i drive car without AC, it pick up is "OK" but if i turn on AC or i drive with some passengers, car runs like turtle. It has sever pick up issues. Timing advanced at 20 to accommodate the pick up problem on CNG but no gain till now. Car hardly touches 100 if i drive when AC is turned off.

I tuned my car from 3S dealer, but no benefits were observed, though he adjusted tappets. Spark plugs are ok, after market plug wires are installed but performance is same as i have on stock cables.

Please tell me what to do. I got large landi ranzo kit installed. The difference btw FF CNG car and after market CNG fitted car is installation of advancer and some hose pipes from kit to radiator in FF alto.

My car is giving an average of 20KM/KG gas if i drive it on 60-80KM per hour speed. To exceed this speed i have to press accelerator more hardly which disturbs mileage. Some one told me that FF CNG alto gives 200-220 on 55L cylinder.

How to resolve pick up issues+mileage. Pick up on petrol is ok.

Please tell me why i am getting such bad performance.

@ekdrifter timing is already advanced to 20 Degree from 15 default. How much your alto has advanced? Or how to get the timing adjusted?

In summers our cars are over burdened with ACs but quality of gas is not that good as compared to winters. So if, fortunately, we are able to find gas this winter, note down the average then. But a 60 L cylinder for an alto is too heavy. Get a 50 or 55 liter cylinder because a 50 liter after market cylinder is heavier than a 55 liter factory fitted cylinder.

At last, I got the success. Same CNG kit and venturi is now working like charm. My mechanic adjusted whole setting and work done. He advanced the distributor timing and adjusted some CNG setting. Now on CNG, my car easily touches 110KM. With AC on, i have very good pick up, car is much lighter now. Now I will try for good average.

is that 110km/hr the maximum you could reach over CNG? Or it might go beyond if you get further a clean patch. Let us know the maximum please, do it on motorway....

I am sure that on motorway it could easily go beyond 110. On highway we have obstacles of traffic moving slowly (or may be we are moving too fast and I have to apply breaks to break the speed. In my next visit to my mechanic, I will talk with him for higher fuel average. Because, now i could easily sacrifice a little bit top speed.

Dear 19-20 per KG is a great but one thing to remember whether you want to get the power you have to switch to the LPG Conversion because it is very power ful and less in cost.LPG Conversion
    LPG Conversion cost
    Autogas conversion
