    Its called knocking , caused by bad fuel!
    Common issue with this shape of jdm alto!
    While driving it looks as if it has disappeared but actually it does not!

    It seems that ayazmardan is right and it is the compressor clutch which sounds weirdly. Huzaifa bro, may be its knocking as you mentioned but the knocking sound is also heard during the gear shifting (which i didn't notice in my car)

    AOA,
    I have changed oil in my car and used ZIC A+ 5W 20, is it a good oil for this car.... The sound has improved immensely and its very quiet now and stable.

    I dnt agree.
    very low fuel consumption.
    Performance on ac is beyond expectation and good on power..
    All u need is a good condition car with manual tranny. BTW prefer 2010+ models, all 2010+ models have DOHC EFI+VVT engine...fuel consumption of 2009 and lower models are high as compared to new models. Old models are just EFi. My alto is giving me 25km/l. It has done 390Kms in half tank. I will share exact millage after refilling .

    Sir manual has more power and better consumption , I agree but not 325 km in half tank ! After full tank you'll be amazed to see that your car wont go above 525! Not 750 km !

    I have a 2006 automatic alto. Its a bit low on mileage as its CAT censor is not working but I will say its a great car. I highly recommend this car for small families. I have taken it to from Islamabad to Peshawar motorway and it didnot let me down anywhere. its powerful enough for a 660cc engine and ride and handling is awesome.
    I have taged mine as a "little red road flame". lolzzz
    I have heard that 2010+ models (the seventh generation) are even better than these 6th gen cars. so if you have more cash go for the 2011 or 2012 model.

    @huzaifa.haroon
    I agree bro....it becomes a real pain in the *** to drive it on A/c ....my car feels so heavy with A/c that i have to switch it off when I am going from 0-40 kmph after 40kmph it is much better to drive....The consuption on A/c is also very high (my car does about 11 kmpl) without a/c it goes to 18-19 kmpl.....Although it used to be good on a/c but now I hate to drive it on a/c...
    My 1300cc honda city 2011 does 15-16 kms in city driving with a/c

    Bro. Replace the head valves.. Get new ones. I did the same. I dont use Hi-Ocatane , and there is no knocking either. The engine should be 100% for this. Weak engines knock on Pakistani Petrol.

    You dont need a good mechanic for this. Buy the sensor and take it to any workshop. They,ll replace it. No need for any expert. Its a bolt on fit and a grip for the wire. No rocket Science.
