    Hi guys!

I'm a newbie into the world of JDM cars and would really appreciate if you guys help me out. I have a few queries regarding the JDM Alto 2014 Eco-Idle version:
    1) How reliable is this car on long routes?
    2) Does it have ABS in them? Cause I didn't see any sign when I switched it on.
    3) Do I even need to buy the Eco-Idle model? and is it worth it?

Awaiting the response of fellow Pakwheelers =)

My Pino is misfiring on cold start. It's fuel economy has gone quite bad, previously i had been getting 18-19 but now 11-12. I can smell petrol leakage inside the bonnet and a punget smell from the exhaust. I showed it to my mechanic he asked me to replace Spark Plugs, I have replaced them with original Denso plugs but still I am facing this problem. I have to wait for atleast 5-10 minutes everyday after starting the car, till the car gets warm. However I am not facing any issue while driving, the throttle is responsive like it used to be. Please anybody guide me

Are the rear shocks available for Alto/Pino, or anyother car shocks that will fit in and what will be the price. This metro bus project has really ruined the rear shocks. Even on small bumps it feels quite stiff.

Dear check your engine oil grade, mostly cold start problem is due to thicker oil. I suspect, you are using Zic Hiflow 20w50.

    1) It is reliable infact all JDMs are but you have to keep in mind the small engine size, don't push the car too far for too long. Else is all good.

    2) Yes ABS is standard in JDMs after 2004ish.

    3) I think it is expensive, should been less than a mil but again it is way way better than PKDMs, reliable, economy, comfort, aftermarket value.

I don't have the Eco-Idle but these are based on my experiences with JDMs and PKDMs

Get your throttle body and electronic choke serviced too if you haven't done that before.
Does you car have a CAT converter? Get that checked as well.

Add this to my previous reply.

there are three type of JDM alto
E or Vp = Phatta Seats,No Power Windows, Power Steering, and simple mehran style side mirrors, it has a large trunk and is used to run small businesses in Japan and has ravi type suspension, mostly in bad condition as they r used to load stuff in japan.

EII=has Power Steering, Power Windows, Sofa Seats, No ABS and No Power Mirrors, and the handles r black in color, Immobilizer is optional.

GII =Has Every thing, Power Windows, Power Steering,ABS,Tinted Mirrors, Power Retract mirrors, color coded glass, Immobilizer comes standard.

Push Start is optional in GII

Thanks for addressing my issue, I get my throttle body cleaned after every 10,000 kms but i still feel a bit of vibration on idle. Could this issue be because of a faulty ignition coil?, Sir forgive my ignorance but what is an electronic choke and where it is located? Never checked the CAT converter, should i replace it?

Poor idle can be the choke or the poor quality of petrol. Try HOBC (25%) with Supreme and check your idle rpm, hopefully it will get stable (helped in my case) else get the choke checked, I am not sure where that is located, you can check the manual for that but it is used to stabilize your car's rpm (carb cars have a manual choke which we pull by hand whenever we need high rpm) but for Efi that is electronic and controlled by the ECU.
However, vibration can be because of some broken or lose engine foundation.
CAT converter is basically used for making the car environment friendly, it mostly gets choked here because of low grade fuel and environment, I have heard that it can be cleaned and replaced too (though it might be expensive). Get that checked from some good mechanic too, removing it might make your car sound louder though (I am not sure but this is what I heard). These are basically the few things you can do with your car for performance and maintenance.
