    Salaaaamz..

    As the name says:: Lets bring all our concerns / suggestions under 1 place , so that we all can get benefit from each other's info.. Every1 is requested to share the below points as well.

    Alto 2006 A/T

    Cosmetic Works Done::
    Added Body Kit / Rims Tyres / HIDs / Security System / Power Windows / LED Bulbs

    Engine Works Done::
    Throttle Body Service / Filters Chnaged / Valve Clearance Setting / Catalytic Convertor Removal

    Okay, so my newly bought Alto is giving me 15 KM/litre in city driving - yay. I just have a couple of questions:

    1. The car feels sluggish. It is because it is 660cc and automatic.
    2. The engine noise is more than my civic - is that normal?
    3. Idle is smooth, but not like a civic.

    Now either i expect too much from a 660cc or I am comparing it with the wrong car (Honda Civic).
    Other than that, the suspension is soundless - (suprised) and it goes just about anywhere - took it all the way to Shah Allah Ditta and up the mountain and it worked flawlessly. And the milage is 15+...

    Between I also have the engine manual in PDF if anyone wants.

    Yea its not CVT. Its 3 speed auto i guess.

    Can someone guide me in followings:

    1. How much is engine oil capacity if one needs to do a DIY engine oil change.

    2. Which engine oil is preferred

    3. Is oil filter easily available? Guard filter? Cost?

    4. I was planning to get a thorough checkup of my Alto in ISB/RWP region by Suzuki workshop but seems like only Suzuki motors in ISB deals with japanese version Altos.

    Am not a big fan of cvt and already experiencing CVT on my belta. Though they r fuel efficient but my daily running aint that much.

    3 litre engine oil... I am using ZIC A+ and quite satisfied with it.. and using the leppon air filter worth 350 rs.

    my brother-in-law bought 2012 alto yesterday. I have a civic 2005 and yes we also felt that engine is noisy (even inside) and also idle is not smooth. Btw the car initially was showing 7.2km/l but after driving a bit it is now 8.6... i hope it will increase in Pakistan roads?

    Dont have the pics right now but this is the car:

    Its our first Japanese car in the family so we are not sure which oil to use, which AT fluid to use, and more importantly where to get this service work done.
    Can someone please guide me what stuff do we need to change? where to buy it and any recommended mechanic in isb/rwp?

    I can recommend Shakeel in F-10 Islamabad for Alto, I take my Alto to him @ HellsGuardian. His shop is towards the end of the lane near houses (F-10/4)....

    our alto is not cvt and yes it does have a red/orange coloured dip stick. We will be changing ATF in any case because we dont know when was the last time it was changed if ever. So please suggest ATF too as we dont have manual and never had an automatic car before.

    and which is better for this car, zic 0w30 or zic 10w40? I am inclined towards shell helix ultra API SN 5w30. I hope that's fine? odo is 68k km

    Well of odo is that high then better to replace tranny oil. Dont know about ATF but for engine oil u can use 5W-30 shell helix ultra.
    Some may suggest to use thicker oil if the engine hours are high.
    Once i am back in PK end of this month, i will probably take my Alto to Shakeel in F-10 as to carry out first maintenance with someone who knows his work.
    Later on can do DIYs.

    thanks and yes at 70k ATF must be changed but we want to change it asap. Hope someone can give recommendation in this matter

    where do you plan to buy the parts required for first maintenance?
