check the gear oil, clutch height adjustment and select lever bushings as first diagnosis - repair as necessary. If it does not resolve then you might want to tear down the gearbox and check the select forks and synchro rings.

select lever = gear lever = the lever you play with to change gear. If you are saying that you get jerk "WHILE" changing gear - its usually a case of a really bad clutch that is not fully disengaging or really screwed up gearbox internals.

the 2nd gear synchronizer rings seem to be going out or you have a misadjusted clutch.

    seems like misadjusted clutch ,
observe it jerks when shifting from 1st to 2nd or down shifting from 3rd or 4th to 2nd
and which car or transmission u have ?
Dream is not what you see while you sleep , it is what that don't let u sleep .

there is nothing as wrong adjustment of plates, the clutch friction disc self centres on the splines and the pressure plate only reacts when asked, the entire assembly is preloaded when installed.

This can be attributed to a siezed pilot bearing in the flywheel - which should have been changed during this job.

same behavior i get when i try to engage reverse gear. all gears shift very smooth except it. if i try to engage with normal force it sometimes does not engage. then if i try to engage again, it engages with a jerk. but often it is smooth.

your clutch cable maybe bad internally. The clutch should start to engage at about 60% pedal travel.
