    Default what's the problem here..Alto VXR ??

    AOA guys

My alto (VXR) wobbles a lot after 80 km/h. I have done its balancing but of no use. My mechanic tells me that its due to the Pakistani "General" tyres and you should go for a Japanese brand. Is he right that the wobbling is due to the "General" tyres after I have done its balancing?

dont drive it over 80km/hr, in such case ur suspension 'd give up pretty soon

inspect ur tyres watchfully, i hope suspension is pretty okay, not causing this harmonics. next time buy good tyres and pay special attention to expiry date as well as speed rating/loading capacity, that might help u.

btw have u checked wheels lug/nuts, make sure they r not loose. and go through alignment, camber adjustment.

general tyres are bad but still pretty okay to withstand 80km/hr speed. actually this is the basic thing in suspension designing, u encounter this 2 times, due to float of resonance from tyres to suspension. once around 80km/hr and once at ~140km/hr ( in case of alto), after that things are pretty smooth, dont take my words and try it ever. different vehicles have different threshold.

man i dont think so that the main culprit is tyres...u know i used to take my car (cultus) to 140 on general tyres n they had no problem at all..i think u need to go to a good wheel balancing guy..ur mechanic is just sayn Bull5Hit...he has not properly balanced ur car.

get the alignment and balancing done from some other place. If the problem gets fixed take the reciept to the 1st place and get a refund.

If it still doesn't work, it could be your tyres (deformed), drive shafts (bent) etc...

Theres a thing called BUMP STOP and another thing which goes between the shocks and the chassis fitting....its mostly through that, the vibrations travel through the body. Get that checked.

Any expert can tell about its real or desi name, so get it checked then.

    this is not fair

one of my tyre's bearing is not functioning well. I went to the suzuki guys and they told me that a new bearing will cost me 1800 rupees. then i went to a shop who are selling suzuki genuine parts (Peshawaris will know "Al-fatah" autos). He told me that a new bearing will cost you 860 rupees.

I am amazed at the price difference. suzuki is killing people.

dealer prices are high for a reason...dont blame them.

    @ szuberi

come on yaar. the exact same thing is available for less then half the price in a shop hardly a kilometer away from the Suzuki dealer. I mean what could be the reason that they are charging 1800 rupees instead of 850 and to install it in its right place in the car, they will charge 400 rupees.

What I did was that I got the 850 rupees bearing and gave a mechanic 30 rupees and he installed it on my car. The bearing was a "genuine Suzuki part"

By the way there was a guy whos CNG to petrol conversion switch broke down (His car was Liana). They said to the guy that you have to leave the car with us. we will send it to karachi, it will cost you 30000 rupees besides the switch and you will get it i guess about 2 months from now.

Now someone tell those guys that why dont you just order the switch from karachi and install it on the car instead of taking the car to karachi
