    Default Radiator Flush Alto

    After reading and researching many threads and also recommendations by Zulfiqar Bhai. I did a flush to my ALTO radiator.
    My Radiator and gas kit were recently replaced 1 month back And i was facing no heat up issues. but deposits of rust were increasing in radiator due water and old rust in reservoir and pipes. This was not acceptable to me as sooner or later it will ruin everything.

    So First step was to remove the thermostat valve by removing its flange. The Valve was quite neat and clean as it was recently bought. Then I bought a new flange for Rs 350. Installed the old fan switch in it, applied some silicon (Rs 60) and installed the flange back.

    I took a 2.25 liter bottle, added water. Bought TATRI (Citric Acid) and made a solution. First I drained all the water in radiator. then inserted the Tatri solution in radiator and topped it up with tap water

    I was driving it by a kind of instinct, only I was in a different dimension...............................Ayrton Senna

    Its been around 10 days. So I thought to have a check on the coolant reservoir bottle level and was happy to see the shiny Coolant at full mark in the reservoir bottle

    No idea of Toyota Coolant.
    If you are using Zic Coolant, then its written on the back of the bottle that its life is One year only.

    Dear experts,
    I want to drain my baleno 2001 radiator for oily stuff. Is it a good idea to put shampoo mixed with the wafer for few days and then drain...
    Would it work?

    @ekdrifter and @Naweed
    Dear since the radiator is oily so there are very less chances of air bubbles...
    BTW most of the British and American forums recommend shampoo or liquid dishwasher...

    never heard it or seen it before, so it kind of gave a weird concept but then there is always a first time to learn something new .. i will look into it sometime when i'm free .. if u r confident then u should try it and share the experience for knowledge of others

    that is great, i always check the level when my engine is dead cold. I will now periodically check the reservoir bottle at 15 to 20 days time interval.
