Thumbs up Suggestions required: new Mehran or 2005-06 model JDM Alto?

Hope you all doing great !!
I have a confusion. New mehran or 2005-06 model JDM Alto.
New mehran price is 6.4 lacs almost with out registration, on the other side I can get 2005-06 model Alto for 6.2-6.5lacs range.
Mehran has nothing like no power steering, no auto transmission, no power mirrors and no AC.. and the most creepy no comfort but JDM Alto is doing a bit of great in these sections. the only good thing about mehran is that it would be new, like I will be relax of its performance for almost 4-5 year as i will be using it personally.
so now suggest what to do and which way to go for ?

WagonR suzuki is best choice if you can extend your budget. Otherwise Mehran vxr is best option for you.

I would suggest you to go for mehran in this budget the reason are as follows:
    * Mehran would be new so no headaches and also you can get it maintained from suzuki so you can drive it tension free
    * 2005-2007 JDM could be a headache the thing is regardless of many features you would get a high mileage alto 70k+ and it would cost you alot to maintain it as compared to mehran.
    * JDM alto 2005-2007 has a pathetic shape..
    * Also mehran is a hot cake you can buy it and maybe in 1-2 years it would be very easy to sell it and you can go for JDM then. I think you should always opt out for fresh import JDM if you need it otherwise i don't think its worth it would be a headache fixing the issues

I have always heard mehran gives good mileage you need to check that in Mehran subforum
About alto JDM there are mixed opinions most say mileage is 12km/l hardly other says 15-17km/l that depends..

I was in the same dilemma as you, I had a choice between a Mehran and a Suzuki Alto JDM. Since it was for the wife, it had to be automatic, so that narrowed it down quite a bit. I bought a 2008 Suzuki Alto GII, all options. And I was thinking that this is old and will give me lots of trouble, surprisingly then car is trouble free. Infact, when i road in a relative's brand new mehran, I could hear the radiator fan, and he had to replace rear hib bearings within the warranty period. My JDM on the other hand, is solid, no sounds in suspension, but it is no new car. It is slower then the mehran but is giving me upwards of 16 KM/litre in local driving in Islamabad and I am pleased with it.

Since you are in Peshawar, i would suggest an alto, mainly because its automatic and safer. Mehran, even though is new, it is mass produced and has a lot of issues from the word go, suspension noises, misaligned body parts, cheap rims that bend when they hit a pot hole at 40 km/h+. and lots more, find a nice clean jdm alto, you will safer, comfy and at ease. As for mileage, i had one for over an year, and based on maintenance difference it gave different figures. In local, it ranged between 14-19km/l. The choice is yours, though i would also add that if you don't have a know how of how a car works and how its maintained, then a mehran is better because the company has a fix for everything, whereas in a jdm, most mechanics can't trace the fault themselves and attempt to take laymen for a ride
