Baleno is quite famous for this problem of backfiring. i experienced same problem with my Baleno and got wires, coils and plugs changed and everything went fine but for a while. After few weeks same problem appeared again and this time i was advised to get throtlle body replaced. So, my advice would be to be careful while considering suggestions from mechanics. If there is a problem with accelerator, it is due to Throtlle body, first change it and then go for wires and plugs. You can get new japani wires in Rs.4500 but it is recommended to use KABLI wires and plugs. Yes, performance plugs (4 tip irridium) can also increase performance but i never used them.

Plug wires having a specific resistance which depends on wire length,if wire lenth varies then its resistance also changes according to length, and as well as plug caps also having a specific resistance which also varies vehicle to vehicle.Similarly plugs are also having a specific heat range & it varies engine to engine and they are also available in different sizes or dimensions. So it is better to use stock plugs and wires to obtain optimum engine performance.

Using of 4tips or 2tips plugs is only wastage of mony because these plugs are designed for high r.p.m engins only.

I had the same problem in mid of july. The back fire never stopped. So called a special person on this forum Spectra the CNG specialist and did the following as asdvised.

    1. Changed the Plug wires. got kabli ones for Rs 1500 bilal gunjh.

    2. Changed the Plugs 4 tipped BOSCH FR 78X Rs 1350. Montgomery road.

    3. Changed the air filter Rs 280 fm filter house Near Adil Hospital DHA.

    4. Serviced the Trottle body (Self). Can be servised for Rs 500-600.

All cost about Rs 3100. The Car is ok now.

Pls keep the air filter clean every week and change it with the oil.

Increase the gas intake also specially in summer

If coils need to be chaged for sure try chinse ones they range for Rs 6000 (3000x2)

The Kabli ciols cost Rs 9000-10000 but its a luck/risk

Your Elec Generator must be in good working condition and shd be used genuine one and no other is to be tied in as if it is changed, will for sure change the current ratio to all the electric parts especially the electric coils. (This is experienced pewrsonally ).

before you invest any money, do check the air filter cover. it should fit properly. had faced severe backfiring issues with my JXR 2005. just made some adjustments to the air filter cover so that it was a proper fit. and the backfiring issue was gone.

I have Baleno 2005. Problem I am facing is that the car while on CNG goes off whenever there is some elec load on it. i.e. when i press the brakes all the brake light takes the current so car goes off. i got it checked from many places incl suzuki rawalpindi motors but no solution. but some time the car is perfactely OK and runs perfactly.

i would be thaknfull if some one can help me in this regards.
