What exactly was done that metal box containing Catalytic Converter was ruptured, than removed the material filled (used for conversion) and than welded again. So to be exact cat is in its place but its functionality is stopped, resulting no mil (Check Engine)

yar put HARRIS silicon as a sealant, scratch the older one after removing pan and check your pan if its face is not flat then give it to a denter and if the pan is more out of shap i mean at place of its face then you might get it from junkyard as replacement,i cost 600 rs here in bilal ganj.

@MoizIrfan - good quality silicon should be light, thin and sticky.

    - both ends should be clean and oil free when applying silicon.

-Use very thin layer otherwise - crank sensor will not able to read the timing position properly. Also it will work longer.

In ur case - I think the mechanic didn't apply the silicon properly or ur oil pane is not in proper shape.

1.6 averages good too, infact 1.3 mostly causes problems.
now comes a new story of blocked and burnt fuel pumps as the fuel is going to be adulterated with new chemicals . ;(

Anyone ever installed automatic transmission in a Baleno 1.3.
Baleno Automatic transmission is a normal in the UK models.
It can be a project for Baleno lovers.

My Baleno 1.3 (1999) has a perfect engine and gives me
13/14 kms/ltr in the city with AC (only with CALTEX & Total petrol)
    12 km/ltr with PSO & Shell petrol

While travelling by road from Isb to Khi it gave me 16/17 km/ltr in summers.
    (never fitted with CNG)
