    Default Suzuki Baleno Advice required...

Guys i am about to get a baleno for my relative i wanted to ask that which one is better in terms of handling power economy and daily drive, the have to drive about 90-100km daily. I have to friends who are selling baleno's one is selling is 1.6 GTi isb registered for 6.20 lakhs and other is selling 2005 jxr isb registered final for 6.80 lakhs. Now what do you guys suggest, im really confused on that misfire problem of jxr so i am focused towrds Gti but what do you guys suggest. I also talked to a mechanic he said that Gti is hassle free car if it is in good condition provides power and economy both but 1.3 has some problems with expensive parts like coils cost about 18-20k. Please give me your suggestions.

The parts for the Jxr are surely expensive than gti, but i kept baleno jxl same engine as jxr for over 3 years on cng. gave me no problems. i even put an after market intake, pipeline & exhaust.. its all about maintaining.. coils harddddly ever malfunction.. mostly if it starts to backfire, its either the valve clearance (tappet) or the wiring for coils.. (wiring costs 2.5k from bilal gunj). i had to replace my wirings once in 3 years.

This was about 1.3. but now yes, 1.6 is more hassle free on cng.

rest you have to decide which one you want to get.

Pros: GTI means, Bigger Brakes, better suspension, bigger wheels, stronger and non complex engine and offcourse more HP....its really tough u can take it anywhere and it keeps on going and going...

Cons: GTI has G16b which is a screamer...heavy on fuel....i heard that G13 can give upto 13/14 in city but don't expect such consumption from GTI

the engine in jxr / jxl is much more economical in fuel terms.. easy 13/14 km / litre.. engine wise, i took it to shogran with 6 people in it (including me, all grown healthy men).. and their luggage.. and cng cylinder.. so power isn't much of an issue.. brakes were same in paki gti & later versions..

1.3 is good if plugs and wires replaced every two years no matter what. i have never replaced coils since 2002.

JXR/JXL uses waste spark system, which uses 2 plugs at a time. (reduces plug life to half) makes it very fuel efficient car. I personally gets mileage of 14/15 kmpl in city and even achieved 19kmpl on motorway LHR to ISB.

Major issue ... coils heat up due to its design and cause misfires eventually got it solved by using side coils. It did not effect fuel economy.

I have baleno 2003, a 10 yr old car and I am not changing it simply because no 1.3L car matches Baleno in road grip, suspension and fuel economy.
