    Default baleno 2004 problem

    Salam,

I have suzuki baleno 2004 and I am facing some problems with it.

    1. On petrol it runs fine, but after sometime it starts missing and pick of the car is equalant to nothing. I think this happens when car is warmed up.

    2. When i convert to CNG RPM drops to 0 and engine stops. Also on CNG it is back firing

Based on recommendation of my mechanic, I changed the coils. Installed new chineese coils and car ran perfectly fine for two weeks but problem started again. I have check engine lamp (MIL) on and from diagnosis connector i found error codes 23 and 42.

    Any suggestions?

it could be one of the following.

Plug Wires, Plugs, But do check the connecting grips for the emulator & advancer (clean them with contact cleaner/ degreaser) just to be sure. Also check/clean the MAF and the Throttle body sensor.

Unhook the battery for about 5 minutes, refresh ECU, reconnect battery, and restart the car.

and do let us know what happens

@hash4u yes check engine light is on. There is a way to diagnose codes by making some jumper settings and then check engine light flashes. These check engine light flashes gave me code 23 and 42.

I have observed one thing today that when I start my car, code 42 is disappeared only code 23 is appearing.

@jazz where is mass air flow sensor located?
I started my car on patrol today and left engine on. After sometime when car heated up, RPM meter started moving up and down and then engine stopped. Do you think it has something to do with throtle sensor?

i have checked plug wire prices today with suzuki azim motors in i-9 today and they are too expensive (Rs11.5k). Is there any other alternative i can try rather than replacing coils

Dear hash4u and jaazz. mine is 2005. 43000km driven g13b baleno so far it was going well and i had completed a trip to isb and nathiagali in august until 2 days back the enige went off while on the road and again and again the wires are ok the battery is fine but the coils are not. why do these wearout? apperently there is nothing wrong with them.
The chinese version of coils are 11000 and about 8000 in bilal gunj for a used pair.
Is this the only wayout i.e to change them and what shd I do that this never happens again I mean any saftey measures for the pair of coils?
    Would appreciate a faster reply.

The main reason for the wires/coils to go is that ppl with EFI cars have there engine bay cleaned with high pressure water while servicing. only other reason is age of the vehicle.

well one jugar would be to wrap the wire in Adhesive tape and then try again.

Take out the Plug Wires and clean if there is any water drops/humidity their. clean both the plugs from outside and wire connectors from where they connect to the plug.

If urs running on CNG Also check Emulator advancer/ try clening their grips/contacts and than connect again.

and finally do refresh your ECu by dissconnecting battery for 2 ~ 5 mins.

    salamz all
i bought baleno 2003 a week ago and i had no idea about its coils...it was runing fine..about 2 days ago my car heated up due...and it started missing i finally came to know that my coils were wraped with tape which burnt off after engine heated up...i wraped again...but the problem is still there
i am fedup with diffrent oppinions of diffrent mechanics...i am taking the car for diagnostic only to danish motors tariq road (suzuki dealer) i have arranged a set of orignal used coil for 6k...but not getting them untill i get my radiator fixed ..this problem comes when the engine over heats and melt the sides of coil pipes..and eventualy it shorts the current in midway rather the transfering it on the tip of plug...lets see if anyone have suggestions do leme know...besides baleno is a great car

Had cleaned the plugs and connectors.
Changed the coils (with used ones)
Cleaned the grips of advancer and ammulator
Refreshed the ecu as mentioned above

Problem is still there and now bib bang is there means there is a sound of patkhas on gas and missing/knocking on petrol.
Now some friend has advised to replace new set of flute/bansuri type pipes under the coils cause they are said to be malfuntioning as the current while on the way passes to the body also. tomorrow it will be done too.

I will take my patient to the suzuki hospital finally for a an ecg. Shall post further after that but if you have good idea/experience pls post.

The code 42 suggest that there is some problem with ur crank angle sensor/circuit.

    23=IAT sensor circuit

When my car warms up (heat gage is approx in the middle), RPM starts jumping up and down. This happens both on CNG and patrol.

According to my understanding, faulty coils are cause for this and as soon as they heat up, RPM starts jumping up and down. Or it can coil pipes going to plugs.

    Any suggestions?
