    Default Starting Problem ... Platz 2004

    AoA Friends
    i have toyota platz 2004, 1000cc, auto transmission
    i am facing problem while starting ... its taking too much time to start after giving lot of cranking repeatedly ... previously it was on CNG but now i m running it on Petrol but the problem is still there, sometimes the engine backfires as well ... help me buddies ...

    Waliakum Assalam,I cant say anything with surity but try checking coils,back fire is maybe beacuase of insufficient current and it may also be the reason for uneven starting or might be your car is badly tuned.

    if your car was adjusted for the CNG , the IGNITION timing was advanced for smooth running & better throttle response. On liquid fuel running readjust (retard) the ignition timing for smooth start and use light foot on throttle for better fuel economy

    check fuel pump as in most cases fuel pump is dead or weak as when the car is on CNG the fuel pump is keep on running which ends up like this which doesn't to supply sufficient fuel
    and vitz or platz timing cant be adjusted like normal distributor car

    @asad1 the emulator / advancer manages the ignition timing adjustment in EFI CNG kits if it starts to malfunction the timing gets screwed up by default

    Check the spark plugs... They could be burnt out..
