Unhappy Belta sputters on cold startup!!! Any suggestions??

    Hi guys,

This thing has been bothering me for the last several weeks now. Can't figure out what to do?

When I start the car in the mornings or late evenings after work, it hesitates/sputters for several seconds and then it idles normally and runs perfectly fine. Then if I again stop and start the car, it starts fine without sputtering after startup. Only happens after the car is standing for a long period overnight or say 6-7 hours on a cold startup.

I put in another spare used good battery to see if my battery was the problem, but the same issue was there. Also replaced the spark plugs with new Denso Iridium ones, but again the same sputtering problem persists for a few secs after starting. Other work I have done is had the car scanned and cleaned the throttle body & MAF sensor earlier last month. There was just one error code P1605 - Rough idling. Any suggestions what else I should do???????

    Thanks

I dont think in Toyota the pump pressurized the fuel line when you switch on ignition. In Honda it happens but not in toyota as far as i know..

Sputters can be caused by low fuel line pressure or leaking injectors as well. I had similar issues in one of my car it will sputters for few seconds on morning startup than it will be fine. The leaking injectors will leak some petrol in the cylinders and also lose the fuel line pressure causing this.

If nothing works try getting the injectors cleaning by a ultra sonic machine.
Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go.

@Vaqas1 for your kind advice. So far its starts up fine now even in these cold mornings in Karachi. But still I would like to get the fuel injectors cleaned as I heard of the benefits and my car is now driven about 45,000 km (original).

Do you or anyone else here knows where this can be done in Karachi???
