I think the link shared by unware summarises it well. It also logically makes sense to shift to "N". I'll try to make it my habit now

    Default Fuel Injector cleaner

    Salam All,

I sent my car to Toyota , they charged for fuel injector cleaner (Genuine Toyota) but didn't actually put it in the car. Rather they said use it yourself ( I can only wonder why would they do that) Fuel tank is at more than half.

Now I have this bottle with me, I want to know if anyone has used it before and what is the correct way to use it? Any benefits anyone experienced after its use ?

Also if this is a way of Toyota to make money since my car is Belta 2010 model and ODO is at 21500 KM only... When I bought the car (unregistered) it was at 17000 (back in Aug 2013).

Appreciate any/all comments ,suggestions & experiences in this regard.

    Thanks,

Strange thing from Toyota. Which area and which location is this toyota dealer??
Cant really debate on using fuel injector cleaner as I never used it in PK. Americans die for this and some make a habit of using it every now and then. But at this much mileage i dont think so u need one. Read instructions on the bottle thats the best advice i can give u. BTW how much did they charge for the bottle and can u share a pic?

Well .... some people say they use it at every oil change. Others say they dont use it unless they experience injectors problem. Some say it cleans the fuel tank but chokes the fuel filter, others say excessive usage will worn out seals in some components.

    M soch raha k rakhe rahoN.. since it has no expiry date on it.. jab 40K hit karoN to daal longa...{tab tak price might be Rs.5000 }

aik to itni khatarnak pre-cautions haiN.. e.g. May cause cancer, use in well ventilated area etc etc k buhat sanbhal k rekhna hoga ...

Will let you know if & when I use it and if any improvement seen, might put in early in hope of improved mileage, currently getting 10-11 KM/Litre in KHI City traffic, so bit confused my self.

Just for your info and for the benefit of all in the fan club....I got a reply from CT Scott who is a guru on the Yaris Forums given below:

    Quote:
"Automatics, including CVTs, are intended to be driven stop and go, so there is no reason to shift to neutral when stopping. Vibration when stopped is normal with the Yaris, as the ECM really drops the RPMs when you are stopped to conserve fuel." Unquote

It seems to be almost normal, you need to control your foot, you need soft foot and speeds around 90-110 for best mileage.

    Default Belta Mileage...

Congrats bro on your switch (just like me) from Honda city to Belta..

I don't think the mileage is low.. I've 2010 model Belta 1.0 in Karachi city it gives 10-11 KM/lt.

I've driven more than 400 now with just 2 bars left (out of total 8). Since your's is 1.3 and you drove on Motorway you'll get a bit higher mileage... in city it'll be even lower.

    Hope this helps...
