I thi k even if you pour 2.9 litre it won't cause any immediate harm to the motor, but OEM recommendations must be adhered to i. e 3.1 liters.

I have 1300cc, 2006 model and import is 2011 with 75,000km. And now it is almost 120,000. I bought it from first owner "Bank manager". I love long routes and been to Murree, Nathiya Gali to Abbotabad and Shinkiayari,, and another longer trip Neelum Valley (Khel) with family from Lahore, plenty of trips from Lhr to Islamabad and plenty from Lhr to Sahiwal. I keep it maintained from Toyota Ravi.

In this whole time period only once the Generator belt got broken.. Other than that my belta has never shown any sort of bad symptoms

My maintenance includes only the following:
    1) I only use High Octane (and get the tank full each time) and use Super if HO is not available.. And as per the fuel average and long engine life, I am satisfied with it.
    2) On time Engine oil and filter (Toyota Petron with Genuine oil filter) change when driving locally (est 4000km) and Before time oil change upon return from long routes, because of the mountains and slopes (est 2500km).
    3) Get the engine basic tuning done, includes plug washing, air filter cleaning, engine surface cleaning with WD40 sort of spray and basic computer checking (cost Rs. 800).
    4) Get the tire pressure check every 4-7 days or before going on long route. Or else I start feeling like I am driving a Mini Truck.
    5) Get it washed or do it by your self whenever you get a chance.. Keep the tyres and near by area clean as much as possible.

That's it.. ! And I am getting awesome fuel average of about 13 to 14km / per litre on the messy roads of Lahore with brake and race all the time. And above 18km / per ltr when on long routes with high speed. And when I get the fuel filled from any station in Islamabad, it crosses 20km / per ltr. My belta has touched 165+ easily on the Lhr-Mul highway..

As Zubair bro has stated that don't get too much technical.. Infact you don't even need to be thinking about anything Belta is simply the Beauty and at the same time beast!

Hope it might be helpful in any means. Good luck..

Thanks for sharing your experience bro...

My primary drive is within the City (Karachi) with avg of 12 km/l (Premium Caltax)... On only long route in this car (Isb-Khi) I got 15+km/L.

I usually get "knocking" if I change the fuel supplier (e.g. PSO). Anyone else recommend to run the car on Hi-Octane ONLY?

Also has anyone put this Toyota Injector cleaner in their Belta and found this of any benefit ? I was sold this by Toyota on my initial servicing (car had only 20,000 KM then). Now I am at 37,000 KM and thinking of putting this in at 40,000 KM... please advise...

    Hi guys,

I need to replace the window rubber strip on the right side door of my Belta just above the handle. They seem to be melting
Any idea if i can get the originals for the Belta and from where????? If the originals are very expensive can I use any other one of good quality. Don't want water seeping through and filling up inside the door panels.

I recently bought 1000cc Belta only 7.8k km driven, willing to change engine oil. As per manual 5W-30 engine oil is recommended but I found in this forum a different grade oil is suitable for Pakistani climate. Some have advised to use 10w-40 or 5W-40 as it will be good in local environment. The dealer who sold this car also advised me to use mobile super 10w-40 oil. Secondly I also learnt from some where in Pak wheel that one should use 0W-40 super synthetic oil for relatively new cars? and use recommended oil after 3 to4 k km mileage. Kindly guide me about engine oil grade and suitable brand. thankyou

Aoa. Brother. I ve been using shell heilix 5w. 30 in my Belta and no problem. Quite recently I shifted to shell heilix ultra 5w.40. Even better experience than heilix 5w. 30.

Walaikum Salam. Thankyou for the prompt reply. I mistakenly wrote 3 to 4k instead of 30 to 40k kms. You also changed oil grade after using the oil recommended in car manual. It seems as there is no clear formula regarding the use of specific grade oil but it is more of personal experience?

Belta manual says to use 5w30 oil. Fully synthetic oil is the best with the same viscosity.

    Congrats on purchase.
First thing i wud suggest is get satisfaction of mind by taking it to toyota and get a thorough checkup. Get all lubricants checked n replaced. Throttle body may need cleaning and tranny oil replacement If the mileage is above 50k.
Let them figure out the problem and then we can discuss further.

If this sounds only comes at once when you turn left or right (“Gut” “Gut”) , even when the car is in the idle stage, then I’ll stay its normal voice. I have heard such voices coming out from Passo & Vitz steerings. But these are just only one “Gut” sound while turning it to left or right. Such noise start coming when some steering connected parts catch some Play.
But if the sound is continuous, then surely something need to be check.

Let me know which area you live in Lahore and I know a very good, experienced & Cheap Electrician in Lahore. He is in Model town and is the best guy.
