They have been dimmed-out, it's common in JDM vehicles. Post a picture so we could give you a better idea on what to do.

If it's from inside then the chrome on the reflectors becomes black, you'll have to replace your headlights if that is what is happening.

    No, they aren't oil based.

ryt now its not with me. m in sm other city dats y.....
no its not a chrome kind of issue... headlights are absolutely okay its just u can say the glass is kind of faded out. not completely but just few cm...
    rest all shine is perfect.
i tried to clean it from outside but it seems as if its from inside of the glass....

Oh okay, I see they're dimmed-out from the exterior. Use Meguiar's headlight restoration kit, it'll clean the headlighst throughly and turn them into as good as new.

P.S: Please post pictures of your Belta as soon as possible

    Default 2006 Belta Owners Manual

Thanks for your reply and apologies for not answering earlier. Yes the repair manual will do for a start; just tell me how I can secure. By the way I am still after an Owners Manual !!!!

I follow your advice on this forum and it is quite informative and to the point. I am not an auto buff, just an ordinary driver wishing to know more about the Belta which in my opinion is a great little car. I always had Mazdas, Hondas and Mitsubishis before never a Toyota I am 70 years old and the Belta will probably be my last car before the electric wheel chair.
    Regards Charles

Good morning. Thank you for the link. I suppose what I am after is a maintenance manual to carry out preventive maintenance. I wanted to check the oil in my automatic transmission but without success. I located what I think is a filler cap; 'yellow plastic', but do not know whether to pull it or lever it up to open, unscrewing it does not work it just keeps turning without becoming undone. Thanks again for the link, maybe I need to start looking at some Auris or Vios manuals. Regards from Malta

The JDM variants come with maintenance manuals but there in Japanese and they don't come with the vehicles when we import them. Open the filler cap a bit, the oil will come out a bit eventually wipe it off with a clean cloth or you fingers to check the color and the stickiness.

secondaly is it available easily... wots the price range for it...
yup definitely i wud post them out.... m bak home so ll try to get them tmoro morning n then upload them...
Well the kit comes with the following:

    - 6 fl oz PlastX
    - Easy Buff Pad
    - Microfiber Towel

If you have a drill machine just attach the easy buff pad to the drill bit and apply a small amount of the PlastX to the easy buff pad, turn on the drill. Move the pad over the headlight calmly with no pressure.

After you are done with that, clean it off using the microfiber towel. Yes it is easily available I think the guys over at Dubaiautos even keep it, it costs 4,500 it is a little pricey but it's worth it.

Please do post the pictures, I'm anxiously waiting to see your Belta.

Wow your car is beautiful and above all "scratchless" how do you manage to keep it so and that too in Karachi. I try my best but can't be around my car 24/7 Have to park in by-lanes / road when I go to meet my relatives and pray!!!!!
