    What sound?

Yes, the CVT transmission fluid needs to be replaced after 50-60,000Kms.

This is the best. M deadly against everything - the Lexus emblem, the lights' cover and all BUT your car looks amazing in the above picture.

    Transmission, not engine.

The fluid needs to be replaced every 40000 km. Old mentality was to top up but now even Mercedes says transmission oil should be leaked out and new poured in.

The sound you have mentioned may be due to your silencer:

    i) Something has gone wrong inside and needs to be fixed.
ii) The catalytic converter has been removed from the rear end also.

First of all, you need to change your name to Belta_roxxx.

First of all, see how many litres Rs. 1000 gives. There was a time Rs. 800 could fill up a Corolla so.....we need to discuss in terms of volume to be more specific. As per today's rates,

Toyota Belta Owners & Fans Club! -376284

Rs. 1000 gives you 10.64 liters so a hundred kilometers makes it almost 10 km/l. The bad news is that this is quite low indeed. Perhaps you need to get the catalytic converter removed. Make sure not to touch the one in at the outer end of the silencer or all silence of your car shall vanish. The good news however, is that you are not the only one suffering low mileage. Even abmalik, the owner of the first Belta i saw in real, has the same complaint.

You can't. Once done, it's done. The only option you have is to create another identity but that shall create new mess so leave it as it is.

The catalytic converter in an automobile is an expanded section of exhaust pipe occurring upstream of the muffler in which pollutants generated in the engine are converted to normal atmospheric gases. It is an essential element in the emissions control system of modern automobiles.

However, in our beloved country we are gifted with all rotten kind of fuels which is why the filter gets chocked and thus needs to be REPLACED. This presence of a chocked filter causes more consumption and thus a heavier car. They clog up and kill your power and mileage. They can also fall apart inside and rattle like children's teeth in the wintertime. Since it costs Rs. 60000+ and not many of us can either afford OR are bothered to buy one, the genuine one is removed and never compensated. The only affect this shall have is that your car be getting all the impurities present in fuels but then, that is just the very case in all the cars we have been owning in the past too, no? From the local vehicles, I guess it is only Honda Civic that is coming with one. So relax and get it done because in the end, you will be getting more power and better fuel consumption!

How? There should be two converters. In the diagram below, the one towards the inner end of the car is to be removed and NOT the one leading out.

Toyota Belta Owners & Fans Club! -376396

IF both are removed, your car shall sound like a rent-a-car vehicle.

As for the place, you'd better be off asking locals to your area. I live in Islamabad so cannot comment. If I were in your place, I would give half the idea to my mechanic like, 'I heard there is some 'jaali' inside and should be removed. Any idea?' If the guy is smart enough to tell why it is present and the reason to remove it, get it done!

If you want to save a few bucks but are ready to undergo mental bashing, you got to find someone trustworthy in Japan to send you one. If you want someone to import one for you, lovable is the guy. If you want one readily available, Murtaza Murti, Pir of the Belta Club shall help.

Today I went to refill the tank, though it was only half but since rates of petrol are expected to be increased tomorrow I did it today...
Got it filled after 372Kms @ 20.48 Liters for 1950Rs...

apparently it seems 18Kms per liter
