    Default Toyota Platz/Echo Owners & Fans Club

    @Psycho-killer
    Thanks for giving me honour to open this club.

    Since the no. of platz owners is increasing gradually in Pakistan, it is now necessary to have our own club sothat we share our technical knowledge, our experience and problems with each other.This will help many members in maintaining their rides properly, searching for spare parts and so on.So here is our own club. All Platz owners and fans are welcome to participate and contribute towards this club to keep it always up.

    I bought my platz just 2 weeks back which is a/t, 1.0L engine, navy blue metallic colour, 2002 model. I bought it in 480k.It is registered but has no cng.I found it very reliable, more spacious and more comfortable than my earlier city99.It has all the features one could wish to have in his car.So far, I am very satisfied with it. Here are a few pics of my ride:

    Thanks for supporting the club though this separate club hurts and pinches a few but we should not mind.One should have a big heart.Btw,u asked about the car price or kit price?
    Anyway,I bought the car from Gujranwala.The kit price in Lahore was Rs 36000 on last Friday and is increasing gradually due to rise in petrol price.

    Brother, I have explored a lot on net but so far did not find platz manual free online.However,regarding routine D.I.Y.,pls check www.echodrivers.com. This could help a lot.

    well sir, if ur so sure, why dont u go to vitz fan club and search for the queries i have posted over there, and just see how much "HELP" i have got from there. and as i mentioned before, there body parts are totally different. if not, please arrange a pair of fog lights of platz for me, for which as per your opinion vitz owners can be of help. i would be grateful

    @others
    well guys. i went to rohtas fort yesterday on ma car with 3 ppl on board. from there i went to mianjee hotel near kharian and then came back. the other car was of ma friend who has a 94 corolla GL. i filled the tank from chaklala scheme 3 and did the trip with 100% AC on. i MIGHT have made it back as well to pindi but the corolla was running out on CNG, so i decided to get mine filled as well. i have a 60 kg cylinder, and after 183 km on drive, i still had 2 lights on CNG on. filled the car, and paid 258 rupees. comes out to be Rs 1.40 per kilometer. i guess pretty much outstanding mashAllah. thats something else that the cng which i filled from jehlum is YYYYUUUCCCCKKK... the car just died after that and i m so much waiting for it to finish

    Well said in the first para of your post.This club needs support and knowledge contribution from its members.

    Btw, after conversion of my car to cng, it started touching the speed breakers occassionally,therefore, I changed the coil springs,eventhen, the problem happens sometimes. Now, I am planning to add aluminium packing. Will it be alright? And how did u manage this problem after conversion of your car?

    although i own a Corolla, i belong to this club as well.

    tariq, my Corolla lowered on installation of cng as well. simple aluminium fillings would do the trick! and it won't even cost much. don't remember now, but do remember that it was quite less compared to what i thought.

    @tariq
    well, to be very honest, this point doesnt bother me much. YES it has lowered a little, but i didnt go for the packing and all, cause it hampers the ride comfort, and in the long run it affects the suspension of the car. wears it a lil quicker. so wat i did was that i replaced the standard 155/80s with 185/70s.....thereby raising the car 0.4 of an inch, which is pretty much for an additional clearance. more than that, i wont do anything. the car shalaremain in original form, thats ma belief. it is MUCH MUCH better now with the wider tyres, and offcourse a lil higher as well. still, with 2 ppl in the rear seat, it does hit some heavy ones, but then if u KNOW ur ride is low, one should be extra careful whil crossing it. taking the car over it diagnonally is another very effective solution. still, if it hits some of them, well, it doesnt matter much to be very honest. the cars are built really strong from down under. and for me this thing is not that much of an issue kuz i im in army, and in our cantts, there are seldom some bumps which are lethal anyways, best of luck with ur modifications. hope they serve u well

    @Waleed80
    Thanks for your reply.Actually, the former owner of my car already had alum packing with the original/stock coil springs and was touching some speed breakers even before conversion to cng.After conversion to cng,I wanted to raise the car and went to the respective workshop and only then, I knew that the packing is already there.So, firstly, as per the advice from the mechanic, I only changed the coil springs to the cng ones and kept the packing as spare with me.After that when the problem remained and continued, I now got the packing fixed again and it is better than before.The packing raised the car reasonably and it does not look odd.Though, it still touches rarely, but I am now satisfied with the rise.

    Waleed bhai i can understand your hesitation to add something false to your genuine car but it depends upon requirement. many cars don't need that filling; some do. and i tell you, it doesn't have any negative affects. if at all, it avoids touching speedbreakers and the car from looking ugly down from the rear side.

    Dot3, there MIGHT just be 0.1% of manual ones out there. haven't heard of any in Pakistan at least.

    @vajih102
    yups...agreed. as i said, ppl driving in a lil rough area do need to raise their cars. as far as the ugly look is concerned, i guess platz already seems pretty raised up from the rear, and i guess with some load, whether of passengers or the CNG cylinder, it looks much better. at least mine does...or again..AT LEAST to me

    and in the end......how BAD that u said that u havent heard of any manual platz in pakistan at least. meri naheen hey kya ?? YES they are rare, but mine is one of them got mine tuned 3 days back and changed the spark plugs. it goes WOW on CNG now Mashallah, though in the first cylinder after the tuning, the mileage has come down from 200 in local to 170 in local. lets see wat happens with the 2nd one
