    Default Toyota Platz/Echo Owners & Fans Club

    @Psycho-killer
    Thanks for giving me honour to open this club.

    Since the no. of platz owners is increasing gradually in Pakistan, it is now necessary to have our own club sothat we share our technical knowledge, our experience and problems with each other.This will help many members in maintaining their rides properly, searching for spare parts and so on.So here is our own club. All Platz owners and fans are welcome to participate and contribute towards this club to keep it always up.

    I bought my platz just 2 weeks back which is a/t, 1.0L engine, navy blue metallic colour, 2002 model. I bought it in 480k.It is registered but has no cng.I found it very reliable, more spacious and more comfortable than my earlier city99.It has all the features one could wish to have in his car.So far, I am very satisfied with it. Here are a few pics of my ride:

    yours appears to be the baseline model. personally speaking i would not pay more than Rs. 725000 MAX. those who know the real value might even deduce Rs. 25000 further. anyhow, vot's done cannot be undone. be contended with vot you have. it's definitely the neatest white Platz i've ever seen.

    Default CNG Average in Platz

    AOA,
    I have bought Platz 2003 3 weeks ago with CNG already installed. It has gas cylender of 55. On highways/long route this gives me an average of 200KM when it is fully filled with 10 KG, but in city it gives me only 140 to 150KM. Is this average OK? or I need to check it to the mechanic. I also electronically tuned the car and changed the air filter but surprisingly the average lowered to only 113Km/8.77Kg of gas? What may be the problem. Also there is another problem. When I run the car with high speeds in city or highways and then stop it on signal or due to speed breaker, the engine goes off on CNG, but has no problem with petrol. I checked it to the mechanic twice and he assured me that this problem will not occure again but it is occuring each time. With normal speeds this problem not occures. Can any one sort out this problem?

    baseline means NO power windows, digital meter, central locking or passenger side airbag, just like my sister in law's Vitz.

    Wa Alaikaum Asalam Wa Rematulla Hay Wa Barakato Hoo Wa Aman Wa Lahoo Akhlada.

    First of all, congrats on your new purchase.
    Second, the mileages you have mentioned are exactly vot i used to get from mine (late 2002, new shape) so worry not.
    Third, my car (auto tranny) also used to behave the same i.e. used to go off at signal when on cng and till i sold it, neither did i or any mechanic find a solution to it.

    1.3l is rare to find and so is manual transmission. see, on this site alone there are only 4 manual cars out ov the total 25 for sale. there ARE species ov both but a combination in a single body, even i've yet to know.

    it a matter of transmission first ov all.

    automatic with a/c ON cng will reduce braking power in summers. Rawfay has on some forum given the correct solution (Vitz has the same issues) but it depends on how many apply for it. strangely, it isn't equally beneficial for everyone.

    secondly, have you ever driven a Platz? many think it's underpowered, particularly the 1.0l, automatic. even i felt the same initially after stepping down from 1300cc Corolla but later got used to it.

    first ensure these two then we'll talk further. aur haan! people THINK it has poor resale but at least the new shape doesn't. it's the earlier models many, myself included, dislike. it sells late but well.
