I am not spoling your thread brother....just to inform Thai Bhat has appreciated a lot against USD and local Thai's are worried about such appreciation as it hurts their tourism. It went around 29 THB to USD (used to be be 32~35). And our PKR aginst THB and USD has depreciated a lot making things more expensive in Thailand. I'm visiting for last 12 years.
For VW Beetles, they got 4 dealers......have complete stuff available for Caravans, Bugs, Ghia's. etc. Local as well as imported. Big number of VW enthusiasts in Thai and Malaysia. Austin Mini's as well. For used classic car stuff, there is a flea market on Sat/Sun evening. Its about half kilometer walk from the MRT Ratchada station....European, American, Japanese cars used stuff....For Japanese new car parts, big market near Grand Palace area....like Montgomery road. Ask the Taxi driver. You'll find almost everything for Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Suzuki, Isuzu, etc.
For clothing, best market is Pratunam in Bangkok (that's where the Indra Regent hotel is)...about 3 km from Nana.
For handicrafts and lots of home stuff, Chatuchak Sunday market. It's next to Mo Chit station on Sky train. Opens on Sunday for tourists and Friday afternoon for local Thai's.
