Every new driver should ideally behave simillarly when new, how is it possible to find a used speaker and then compare it and what is the point if a speaker costing more than 1,000$ is not efficient enough without being driven for 100 hours.
quoting from the Focal manual:
Running-in period
K2 Power drive units use the very
latest components. To ensure such
complex mechanical elements work
in harmony with each other, they
must be allowed to function correctly
in this environment. Such changes
in temperature and humidity are
regarded as very hostile. For K2 Power
speakers to benefit, a running-in
period must be used to ensure they
are prepared for this. We recommend
that once the system is ready for
listening the drive units should be
run-in with medium volume setting,
with music that has the full bandwidth
of frequencies (sub-bass through to
treble). This running-in period should
be used for a few weeks, to gain the
full potential. After which the excellent
performance of your K2 Power
products can be fully appreciated.
can you explain your idea of "efficient"? because i think your ideas are really worth sharing as you somehow know more better than the makers and manufacturers of the products. So please, as you always do, share the love and knowledge, save the humanity, and ***** like that, do share your superior acoustic engineering knowledge and understanding of audio driver mechanics. Why not drop a CV at Focal/Hertz/Audison/Sinfoni etc, i am sure with your superior knowledge you will be recruited instantly and will be highly paid (and you will be better of there instead of making some measly fleabay deals as you are always "arranging" stuff for others.....) Food for thought!
Even finding the Hertz and Focal together was a difficult task, let alone testing them after the break in period. chhhaaa chhoo gaey ho yaar! your next conquest should be the Holy Grail or the lost ark, Mr Indiana Jones.
Audio stuff is not for the shelf only, When did i or any one else said that they are meant for shelves or sound boards? All that I said was that sometimes super geniuses like you tend to overlook car cabin acoustic/reflections etc and make their decision on the basis of what they hear on an a sound boards in shop running speakers of a rockmars headunit. LOL! because obviously, the egg head you are, during your meticulous testing of focal 165krx2 vs hertz mlk 165, totally didnt give a ***** to the impedence...
as your highness uttered these words of sublime poetry...
"Both components were new on the shelf and tested in a VW bettle with Clarion 785U.
No AMP, no EQ, no electronic crossover, everything flat, identical setting, stock passive crossovers with factory setting."
question, is your clarion headunit's internal amplifier 2 ohm stable? NOT.
Which means, that you during your controlled testing in your mobile beetle lab, were listening to clipping.... OUCH! chal shabash agay..
and oh, if you dont know what clipping is...(which you really dont know otherwise you wouldnt have quoted your "experiment")
Clipping (audio) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
may be you didnt understand what i said, perhaps you sould have taken agaraiji classes from where you learnt your bijnij manijmunt
Alpine and JL Audio dealers offer a 7 day money back guarantee, only we have that do not touch the box policy. Oh wow! i didnt know that you went to France and Italy to test those speakers out...wait isnt Haroon in Karachi? Duniya ke isi khitay mein rehtay ho na? ke tumhara karachi kaheen aur hai?
OEM packing in car audio stuff is also availlable without accessories and box which is much cheaper. Perhaps, i dont know and neither do care, you would know better since it is your "bijnij" to buy used items and repack them to be sold as "BNIB"
That is not even high end stuff, high end stuff starts from 5,000$ custom made drivers, which is way beyond my budget. P D K , at some places your high end stuff is 100-200$ and at some places it is $5000... kamal hai
makes me quote a signature from a fellow PW member:
"Baatein caroron ki, dukaan pakoron ki"
what an exit hole.
I am still content with my egg and head, Type R are good for me and I still have a firm believe on my kef long throw drivers with denon DTS 96/24 reciever for enjoying music so I do not have to sit in car for that.
It is my brother who wants to spend that much on car audio, what is out of box in spending that much, one cannot get a bad driver for 1,500$ even if he is blind, you get what you pay for. i didn't want to say it back then but i was actually surprised when you posted about these drivers. Type-R is good for you, good, glad for you
I do not show anything on PW, it is like making fun of those who cannot afford it, what is the point in spending 3,000$ and demand respect and applause from those who do not have it. whine whine i wont show anything...blah blah...loser, we are not making a casting video here, where you are shy to show your "things", if you think posting about more expensive stuff and discussing about it "makes fun" of others then WHY THE F*** you posted this topic here? why didnt you post this thread over some place else, DIYMA for instance? i know why...because you knew your backyard will be violated over there as it is being done here...

So it will be like that.
I had the Pioneer P80RS and C160R in September 2006, when people were talking about Kenwood 718 as High End. T M D P M....B C.. munafiq piece of *****... what the fawk you pooped from your @ss mouth back then gaafu:
"All I was saying that just stop making fun of people having 718 and Type R in their cars, everyone has its own choice."
Sad part is that nowadays everyone thinks that only he is the first to afford a yellow or orange cone. peeli cone le, kaali cone le, laal cone le, ice cream cone le, mehndi ki cone le, khan teri marzi aur tera taste hai, jo lena hai le, jitni baar le per le ke chup ker konay mein jaa kay baith ja. By now every one knows who "thinks" he is the first and who really is the first to afford.
whether you can afford it or not,..merey L pe thund hai saalay sun le kaan naak moonh aur baaqi sab kuch khol ke.. If you suffer from an inferiority complex, dont take it out here....Keep your ***** to yourself
However, thank you very much for your valuable input and suggestions. However, i will be always here for more of such valuable INput and suggestions,...feel free to ask when ever you feel like going **** again
yaar chakkar lagatay raha karo PW pe, rounaq lagi rehti hai...
