Cancellation of freqs doesnt occurs in such case. Let me clear one thing first that There is NO PHENOMENA NAMED "FREQUENCY CANCELLATION". cancellation occurs in phases only which is called "Phase cancelation." any how, Freqs are overlapped if 33Hz and 34Hz OR nearest freq ranges are tickled. This is called Frequency overlapping.
Secondly, sound is muddy if the dBs of the entire fourier transform of a waveform/signal/analogue signal overcome 0-dB. each left and right channel of a signal have -ve infinite dB in the center upto 0dB on the shore.Therefore, closer the peak amplitude of a signal to the center channel more clean and neat sound but lower in volumes.While mastering a song signal, normalization process is used along with limiters/compressors so that the peaks are kept under 0-dB. Therefore muddy sound is not possible.
Third, Amplifiers are used for boosting up the input signal according to the power amplification circuit complexity adapted and to avoid the "standing wave" phenomena to be occured.So the gains of an amplifier are adjusted...
Q:- what are gains?
Ans:- Amplification or attenuating a waveform.
Q:- Where gains are applied?
Ans:- gains are applied on the frequencies.
Q:- How frequencies are adjusted?
Ans:- Freqs are adjusted with variable resistance and choosing the specific freq OR freq range.
Hence after adjusting the responsive freqs for an amp then we apply gain!!! this will boost up the amplitude of a relevant frequency.
Human ear can interpret>>> 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Hence freqs in this range are transferable to the ear. if the final mix have decent freq gains in between this range then there is no muddy sound/No clipping.
Tunning an amplifier is totally depending upon DSP fundamentals.
-Proper gain to a low freq band(Low Pass filter) in the amp will be effective for a woofer for a Low freq segment.
-Proper gain to the HPF will be effective for the speakers for Mid freq segment and high freq segment for Tweeters(treble)
So, if two woofers are tunned e.g. one with 50Hz effective freq response and the other for 34Hz effective freq response then there will be more warm and dense low frequencies. Vendors mention freq response for every woofer product. This information is the key point for generating BASS which is unfortunately regreted mostly in PAK . Thanks.
