Just for this reason (i.e. too much of delay at startup), I have chosen to go for the "old" navigation system rather than the new one.
Besides the delay at startup, there is relatively more delay when switching between screens or items in the menu.
Needless to mention here that the camera provided inside for skype pretty much useless at the moment. Mobile broadband (3G/LTE) has just been launched. I seriously doubt if the quality of service will be good enough for a skype video call in a moving car any time soon... Secondly, video chat would be a distraction for the driver and in fact a dangerous feature to have!
Bluetooth connectivity of one's phone is more than enough. Not sure who will be so desperate to have video chat inside a car over skype...
And last but not the least, the front cam (between the logo) is positioned in such a way that one cannot see the bumper or the ground just beneath (or in front) of the car. This implies, it will not help at all when trying to park the car closely to the obstruction in front in a safe manner...
