i would like to explain the consumer flexibility part a bit more
since bass is recorded on both your source channels, you would want both to be reproduced by your single channel amplifier, hence, the stereo input, which is converted to mono channel in the amp.
yes i actually touched tht point cause i have seen ppl saying tht i bridged the channels on a mono amp.... and they can actually hear the difference in performance!!!. altho u bridge the channel , play it on the left channel or right channel , u will get the same output from a mono amp.
thou your statement is true for most consumer products,
electrically speakings, class A,B,AB,D donot impose any limitation on number of channels, and ohms, one can design an amp to suit almost any impedance, offcourse cost and complexity comes into place.
one such example is alpine pdx4.100 is class D, full range 4 channel amp.
also most mono amps are designed to play woofers, hence there frequency response is limited.
yes u r right about pdx4.100 being a clas D but i yet have to see a mono amp not being class D. altho i have read some place tht these are just theories and in real life , a class A amp can actually be as efficient as a class D amp...... but i dunno how true this is...
scene 1, i told a friend i got polk audio, he asked, y din u get pioneer?
scene 2, i have polk audio speakers, friend; polka icecream to sona tha, polk audio kia hai?
scene 3, acha system hai, gari ke bahir bhi awaz aa rahi thi, i am; dude i was thinking of dynamats.
hahah yea man i know these scenes..... they sound very fimilar to mee too ,
1)but bro i dont really agree with ur solid audio and kenwood 718 point. i think solid audio is more " bang for the buck" and there isnt really any company which can give u tht much of power for tht price. some examples would be alpine pdx1.1000rms for 38,000 . soundstream 850x1rms for 35,000 and then solid audio 1600rms@1ohms for 18,000. even a consumer like me would go for solid if given a choice since i get more rms and the price is about half , and the cutoff frequency would be tuned from my Hu anyway.
2) kenwood 718 is all about loud. i have heard so many speakers but havnt heard anything as loud as them. they get loud with allmost any amp and thts y they are so successfull. i need not to talk about quality here , cause if our normal consumers knew wat quality was , they would be investing more on front stage rather then even getting 718 ........
