Depends on what you want the car mainly for ?
What kind of driver you are ?
If you want a nice and equipped city cruiser that has sufficient power when you need it , and you are not into burnouts and drags and stuff , well then an auto corolla will do that just fine .It will be very sooth to drive and particularly convenient in rush hours traffic and also in narrow city roads with congested traffic.
The only edge manual has is better fuel economy . (Some other things as well like :better resale and somewhat lesser maintenance costs etc.)
Now if you really want to have some ''fun'' , (and money in not an issue) well then frankly , corolla is not a good option (whether it be altis or 2.0d or gli doesn't matter). There are quite a few other options in this price range .Buy something that is 'designed' for that . Otherwise not only you will ruin your car by trying to be 'sporty' in your corolla but also that it is not very safe .
Good luck !
