Lately cars coming in market are of very low grade like 2.5 R .. After their arrival in pakistan these are washed thoroughly , repaired and given auction sheets of 4 plus
Reason : There is a saving of around 1 lac in 660 cc category if you buy a 2.5 grade car instead of a 4.0 car. With the influx of JDM cars the competition has increased and profits reduced. This is the only way to earn a handsome profit
Implications : These cars have high mileage at average near 100,000km .. There is Rust (in some cars) and then these require other maintenance work like changing gear oil .. imagine u brought a vitz 07 with odometer showing 35000km and after 15k driving your timing belt breaks or gear box gives away .. now calculate the expenditure
A Word of Caution : Ignore the obvious and look for the un-obvious
.. Do not fall prey to low mileage, auction sheets or polythene packed interior
.. Question odds like why coolant bottle is yellow, keyhole has a loose key grip, radiator fins look old, rust in various areas, rattle in plastic parts .. etc, etc ...
If at all you agree to buy these low grade cars buy them at the right price ... It is my assumption that all buyers ultimately come to know real condition of their car in a few months .. so it was one person who is a professional thug and conned you .. what will you tell others as a seller, "an intermediate story" or the real faults in your vehicle ..
Think of it and say "YES" to fair dealing
