Default my charade 86 g11 after a visit to the body shop.

    Aoa all,

thought id post a few pics of my charade after her visit to the body shop

1-had some minor rust issues resolved.
    2-waxing
3-touchups on the right side due to some dents.

Im not overly satisfied with the shine of the paint. The body shops asked me to send her for another visit and they will take care of the shine.

kept the orginal body parts in genuine paint. shes still 70 percent orignal MASHALLAH.

id say only let them touch the repainted areas not the original paint, the abrasive used by local body shops is too agressive and makes the paint too thin. the car looks nice

yes youre right , its actually the repainted area which is not giving the desired shine. Alot of people have also pointed out that the orignal factory color is very high quality and due to mass productions , costs them cheaper on the long run.

Now the local ustaad cannot get a similiar finish and that too on a tight budget. All in in all i paid them 10000.

the factory paint on these cars was terrible to start with, your painter could not even match with it? What brand products did you use?

The factory paint on these cars was terribly thin and even somewhat missing in some inner areas (like old Fiats), it also did not age well in the sun and would chip very easily - Its shine was sub-par too.

Compared to a similar year toyota cressida or mazda 626 etc whose paint was super nice. Currently Toyota recommends sikkens for all refinish jobs but I do not know what they did recommend back then.

For a good paint system, Glasurit, Standox, Sikkens etc are excellent - provided that your painter actually follows correct technique and uses the entire system from start to finish. That means using their primer, adhesion builders and flex agents for the plastic parts. Most painters use super cheap bad quality stuff for primers etc.

when cost rears its ugly nose .. quality bites the dust. you are well aware of the current economic situation in pakistan. Karachi getting the beating of a life time. Its hard enough to make ends meet , maintaining an auto is another challenge all together. There is one workshop in karachi who is considered the top of the game. YAZDANI . Hes one of my clients and a really nice gentleman. He offered a special discount to cover the whole body dent and paint from scratch for 50000. Didnt seem relevant to spend 50k for since shes already in great shape. Yazdani applies most of the techniques you mentioned , He has cars the likes of mercs , bmw , range rovers etc .

not a trick Question but your asking in the wrong area.I have a 2010 gli and the consumption on petrol is good but not a very good engine i would recommend you to get the 2006-2007 model 1.3l efi engineas those engines were best on cng...

Go for CNG on same engine,

do not go for vvti xli engine.
    cons
    very heavy for ur car,
size is big, so u will go daily for mechanical work.
    suspension will badly suffer.
ur car will lose Grip and control on road.

thanks for the advise . makes sense... the idea is practicalilty and economy.
are g11 engines easily available in peshawar? My current is the orignal 28 year old overhauled 3rice... before it requires another overhaul im thinking of arranging a replacement , sealed used engine.

it will be very difficult to find Sealed engine of CHarade.
the good idea is to consult ur machanic and ask for Cultus engine,
if EFI Cultus 1000 CC engine may replace in ur car, go for little alteration in foundation area of ur car, it will be more economical.
because these engines are of new technology, economical, powerful. and also u may easily find a sealed engine of cultus.
another advantage is, that spare parts will be easily available every where

    aoa everyone,

shes back from another visit from the body shop.....unfortunately they have messed her up

1-exterior body work is pretty decent however requires better finishing
2-idiots have burnt the side carpet and speaker area.....now putting an excuse that it was like that from before....

khair ive held their money till everything is fixed up

would appreciate if anyone can arrange the interior plastic part which is encircled in the pic.. along with the plastic door lining which holds it. Also if anyone can remake it with a good finish. (required for the left side)my charade 86 g11 after a visit to the body shop -1258676
