    I am surprised that alot of Pakwheelers owns Daihatsu Charade but there isno Charade Fan Club Although i have sold my Charade but I really admire this car so @beeberg, @saifi007, poppatTURBO, sd_sig and others do paste the pics ofur cars and share urs experience as well Thanx N Regards

    @ somi1981..yes i think u can have a 1988 Charade in dat kind of budget very easily. U can have it in approx 190-200K.

    @ Rocketman..buddy u cannot find a CNG fitted 4 door 1988 Charade in 150K. U cannot even get a petrol one in dat price....check the market bro.

    well sorry to dissapoint u poppat bhai .. i bought a charade 88 rec october 94 and 4 doors myself 5 years ago .. for 150,000
    recently i sold it 1.0 petrol with landi renzo cng ... i posted my add on pw and my demand was 130000 but i got preety less than my demand .. many of ppl i know bought egg shaped charade and some are preety neat .. noone got it over 150k ..

    u can get 99 to 2000 mehran in 250k i think coure ka idea nahi .. basically car market runs on fluke rates .,.. jo bewakoof ban jai jis time

    Hello guys!

    i am new here and as i dont have any charade in my porch, so i am not eligible to be the member of this fan club.

    i like charade and i am planning to get one

    its 91 charade, reconditioned 2000 probably after import. one user was a lady doctor for 5 years now its with my friend. its 1.0 diesel turbo and the engine needs overhauling. for me the problem is that i dont like diesel.

    my friend got it for 240k, asking 250k from me.

    if i bought it from him, i have two options

    1. overhaul the engine, may cost 10,000
    2. replace the engine with petrol one and convert it to cng. as i want it to be cng. it will cost 30,000 as my friend was telling me.

    so guys, as you all have charades, let me have your advices...

    i have about 250k spared for my car. you can suggest for any other comfortable car like khyber.

    please post pics of that charade to avoid confusion of model .. u r talking about that sedan charade right .. what options does it have .. u can get petrol or diesel engine under 30k eaisly but only cng will cost u around 30k
    please post pics if u want a car to be evaluated ...

    Post some pics including interior.

    Charade diesel if original will lose its value if converted to Petrol. Fit in a new desiel engine. Thats will be best. Charade Diesel Turbo is powerful quite and fast....i tell u.

    If it was originally petrol and converted to diesel by ur friend or the doctor then go for the swap and give relief to this car

    Decision is yours.
    Approx engine prices:
    CB-23 (Pertol Non turbo) Rs 20000
    CB-60 (Petrol Turbo) Rs. 30000
    CB-30 (Diesel Turbo) Rs 40000

    1991 is not neccesaraly a seden. In 1990 n 91 charade introduced seden parrallel with std g100 hatchback

    actually it is the same hatch back model as you mentioned

    one thing i noticed in that car was that there was lights in the meter panel showing the automatic transmission letters like D, 2, etc. may be it has been converted to manual during reconditioning.

    i will try to get some snaps of it.

    how can i check whether it was originally petrol or diesel? are you saying to swap it back because of its suspension?

    yarr disel or petrol had no body difference no suspention diff but i think shocks were diff .. they made these bodies and engine same .. while converting from diesel / petrol u dont have to make any alterations except your axel road size .. everything is bolt on ..
    5 years ago i went to buy charade and i found a good 1 for 225k , then someone told me charade egg shape cannot cost this much ... i searched again and found a reconditioned 94 with power stearing and genuine alloys for 150k .. it was a petrol converted to diesel . diesel got expensive so i got it to petrol then cng ..
    just search in bazars and u can find 1 cheap ... people just dont admit that their car will devalue .. i have hered 2 members of PW bought GTTI's for like 165 or 170k

    Recognition features ifference b/w Diesel and Petrol Model
    1. Diesel model will have its speedometer upto 160 where as petrol will go upto 180 or 200kmph
    2. Engine bay and inner face of bonnet will have sheilding (namda) to supress engine noises. where as petrol will not have similar arrangemnet. If it is there in the bay it is original diesel. On bonnets it can be fitted with aftermarket stuff also but not in the complete engine bay. The A/C pipe going to the dashboard through bulkhead will pass through proper holes in that shield.
    3. I dont know for this model but for mine (1985) you can even differentiate from the chassis number
    G11-XXXXXXXX stands for petrol (even if it has been modifed with a diesel motor
    G30-XXXXXXXX stands for Diesel
    i think in your it should say like G100-xxxxxxx for petrol and Gxxx-xxxxxxx for a diesel (not sure but i ca chk it for u)
    4. The diesel filter with pump will have a guniene fitting
    5. In the warning lights in the dashboard, one will be a coil and goes on when the glow heaters are turned before starting.
    6. Suspension, axle, foundations and steering are same as said earlier
    See these differences and keep it original or make it original (My Advice)

    nice points pointed out but still 250k is atleast 100k over price for me .. lets say u buy it for 250k then spend 50k on other things to make it perfect .. still an engine from market is old engine and can require overhaul.
    car can cost upto 300k .. for God sake buy a 2003 coure ..
    for 250k u can eaisly get a 99 death trap (mehran)

    still 250k sounds atleast 100k more to me .. u will have to spend around 50k on it .. 250k means it will be 300k .. u have better options in 300k

    the price, yes its quite high. but my friend says he can sell it for 250k in his home town bannu. because there is no cng there...

    as far as i think the car is original diesel turbo. but still i will check it as turbolover explained

    you may find the ad of it in a few days with pictures... just wait for it.

    as far as i`ve experienced.. charade is a nice hatchback.. as far as the quality is concerned, u can easily compare it to khyber or cultus but unfortunately as far as the price is concerned, it is only being compared to mehran and yet most of the ppl recommend mehran over charade but i dont find any good reason for it... is it bcoz of the parts availability and mantainance cost? is it too high for a hatchback? are the parts easy available? as in if someone decides to go for a charade over mehran.. is there any certainity over the period of 3-4 years that the parts will still be available in the market? your comments are welcome n will be appreciated

    all parts r available except interior parts
    all new plus used parts r there .. mehran's kabli gear box i bought for 12000 and charade's for 5000
    its a good buy but ppl run away because its very old .. i wouldent compare its quality and comfort with a mehran .. it is a fact that it needs proper attention ...
    if u r new then buy a car thats very easy to maintain and easy for mechanics to handle too warna charade is good for experiance. plus ones good kabli stuff bought, it will last very very long time .. new stuff is bekar ..
