    Default Charade Simple Engine with Turbo Head

    I have a standard 1000 cc diesel charade. is it possible that if i change its head with a turbo diesel head. what effect it will nake on the performance of the vehicle?

    Yes you can change the head - but you also have to make sure where TDC is and what the pulleys align to in relation to marks.

    If your mechanic busted a newly built engine in short time - I would be looking for someone else to assemble the engine. And the main bolt on the crank timing belt pulley must be locked in place with a threadlock (engine being 3 cylinder can make the bolt work loose due to firing pulses being too far apart).

    Both heads flow the same - the major difference in both engines were heavier pistons with oil cooling galleys, oil spray squirters to cool the pistons and a larger oil pump for the turbo engine. The rest bits were not that much different, the injection pump had an LDA and the nozzles were set at a higher break pressure

    You have to replace the head bolts too with new items as the old ones must be stretched by now - you would have head gasket issues because the head is not clamped tightly enough to the block
