    Default Say no to Charade...???

helo people... a few dayz back i was thinking of buying a charade... but my mechanic says not to go for it... as it is not a good car to keep...

    (no offence to charade owners)

it's an obsolete model... no resale value... mechanics are hard to find... spare parts are expensive... they cost even more then that of corolla... diesel charade is a complete flop... bad eingene... petrol engine is ok but again u have to keep all the above mentioned things in mind...

this is what my mechanic and a few other people have told me... i am sure there are a lot of charade owners here on pakwheels... can u people tell if all the things about charade are true or not... i personally think that its a good looking car and it should be better then all the locally assembeled cars in its class...
    waiting for your comments...

    Regards

do consider the amount of money which u r paying for it? compare it with the Suzuki's around and then make your analysis. you are the best judge, u know what u want from your car, right?

dont just pass a fatwa that charade is a bad car.

most doctors are at least MBBS in Pakistan. so you accept thier judgement to a certain extent.
there are lots of mechanics in PAkistan, what is their qualification that one accepts their judgement, hence ,so at least choose a qualified mechanic to begin with and even better to quote yr source

Mechanics can say whatever they want, if your mechanic dont like a particular car, then u cannot have that one, this is what it seems

i kept two charade turbo detomasu 84 and 86 model,(2 door) both were good cars. only problem was turbo manfunction at times in 1 car, but that's mechanic's fault,, not car's.

The Charade isn't or rather "was'nt" as bad car. I'll agree its dated and good examples are hard to find and even if they ARE available, they're rather underpowered for todays high paced travel. We never got the better ones like the 1.3 Social/Sedan versions OR the Kissa. The diesels have earned a bad reputation but thats to be blamed on the lack of OR parts than anything else. Given todays options, its a buy i'd advise against.

Charade is a good car. i do owneda charade few months ago. it was diesel. 84 model. all it needs a contineous care and she never gave me a hopeless result. basically charade was made flop by Pak Suzuki Motors in order to promote FX in pakistan. Every body knows that in pakistan vested interests are more important. so spare parts of charade gor banned. same happened with lancer in order to promote margalla and toyota. i dont know whether my analysis is true or not but i believe in it. and about mechanics. huh. if they dun know how to handle they simply disregard the vehicle

these local manufacturars are really sucking the blood out of common people... instead of making there own product better to compete the international mrkt... they use theze negative tactics to sell there low quality marchandize on high prices...
i dont know in what direction this country is going... but things sure don't look any good to me...

If any mechnics say hard to find thats y they consider her the bad car thats not car's fault but fcouse of mechenic
i think the person who experience the charde whould already known of problems of parts and its good idea to utlise experince rather than for going to experience as well as i m concern i though charde is far better then ALTO COURE SANTRO CALTUS

well if you are in a Big city then every car is a good car,but if you are in a small city then Dont buy this car, reason v simple...No mechanics,no parts and worst no resale.... The city makes a hell lot of difference..so instaed of going to mechanics better check local SPARE parts shop to confirm the parts and their relative prices. If Parts exist, mechanics would definatley be....Best Of Luck!!!

    Hy to all
I m a proud owner of charade 84(non turbo)my father changed his ride 4 times in his life and every time he bought a charade(SO THINK kuch to baa hai na jo har bar charade he khareedy).and he bought last charade in 1994 which came as a reconditioned from japan.
this car has a long listed qualities.the only major pro. that i foun in this car is of suspension, shocks and excel
otherwise its a rocking car. my car has petrol engine and gives 11km/litre w/o AC.it also has a rocking company fitted AC.
so siliconsmile, as other said dont call charade as a bad car try change your mechanic

Obsolete model???? Can you name a SINGLE feature in a suzuki fx, mehran, alto, khyber, cultus or maragalla that's not in a charade? Even compare the latest models of suzuki with the old charade, and the charade is a highly customizable car which a suzuki isn't, and if suzuki's parts are cheap, they also come with a cheap quality, suzukis are made of tin whereas charade is a strong and even though it's heavier then the suzuki's, it gives a better milage then even the 0.8 litre suzuki, and which suzuki has a turbocharged engine? or 4-wheel discs? None...........
    Charade Rocks,Suzuki sucks big time.........

@bilal....god one dude. @siliconsmile..try this if you can. Go and drive a new cultus then go and drive a charade. the charaede (petrol) is much quieter than the cultus and ride comfort is 1000 times beeter than cultus. charade is a legend. charade rocks big time. interior is of far better quality material than the new corolla ( i own one so i know)
