I finally got my all new Honda City 2009 today! I’ve been in love with this vehicle since it was launched! And to tell you the truth, it hasn’t disappointed me
Exterior:
Styling of City’ 09 has been a matter of animated debate , at least on Pakwheels. It is a bold design and even 'disruptive' design which is bound to evoke sharp reactions, both positive and negative.
I find the fit and finish, panel gaps and the paint quality to be of very good quality.Touch of chrome would have made it to look more upmarket.
Among the things I wished they had provided on exterior (fogs, alloys...) are the lining inside the fenders to cover the bare metals.
Interior:
Design:
Design and materials of interior is a mixed bag. I find the fit and finish to be of top notch but the colour and texture of the plastics make them little dull. It’s all black! Not all people prefer it, but I love black! There are clever touches to the design and execution and eventually the interior design starts to appeal in a subtle way.
View
:
View from the driver's seat is good without prominent blind spots. Of course the rear visibility is poor with high boot lid and thickish C pillars.
Sound Insulation
:
I have not noticed any road/tire noise so far. But the outide noise creeps to fair extent. Engine noise is not very intrusive.
Performance
:
Haven’t tested anything yet, just got the car and have been driving it under 2500 rpms. But, by the sound of it, seems like an EXTREMELY capable motor.
Steering:
Responsive and nimble, best I’ve ever driven sp far!
Comfort & Space:
One of the best departments of the All new Honda City. The car is generously spacious; and an absolute pleasure for both the driver and the passengers!
The Down Side:
Honda Atlas stripped it off from the top notch audio system it had to offer. Lack of height adjustment is also a disappointment. I would’ve loved a centre console box, chrome handles and alloy rims, but then, this is not the 1.5 S version. I do not consider the ‘black’ interior as a downside, it’s a matter of personal opinion! However, I hope Honda caters the demand of it’s consumers and offers a ‘beige’ interior for the Pakistani car enthusiasts.
