Default difference between current honda city and 2006

    Hi guys,

I purchased honda city idsi (manual transmission) 1.3L last month. Now I have heard that Honda city has launched the new model. There are three version. 2 versions in 1.3 (the same idsi with manual transmission and vario with automatic transmission engine). The third one is 1.5L steermatic which is vtec and is both operational in automatic and manual transmission.

My question is what is the main difference in this current 1.3 idsi and the 2006 1.3L going to be launched. I am more concerned about the outside shape. Is it just the rear lights (roundish and extended towards the middel of the trunk) and the front bumper which is slightly changed with head lamps in the bumper aswell or there is a major change in shape as happened with the previous version.

The older city was flat and this one was totally different than the older version (aerodynamic shape etc). So the thing which is pinching me is i just drove the car only 1000 Kms and have heard this news so please if any guy has exact info what is 2006's difference in shape, lights etc etc with this current 2005 model you can say. I am not much concerned about the interior.

If you have any pics of new 2006 city, I would appriciate if you can post those or any website link will also work .

If lights are the only difference then I guess, I can get them replaced from honda or do some alteration but if the body shape is changed then you know I have got ***** up like. Well that must be happened with many guys.

Anyway, hope to receive your comments.

    Dear Yasir

Models do change every year and you can never catch up with the changes. Same goes for other things like computers, cameras, mobile phones etc. So whatever you have bought, its good and you should enjoy it instead of regreting.

Now coming to yuor question. The new city has some external changes. The front is one inch extended and also hood hood in the front is raised by about 1 inch. The grill is more open and head lights are totally changed. Under the hood the larger space available is used for a bigger cooling system. The rear is also extended by 1 inch. The total length of the car is extended by some 80 mm which is about 3.2 inches. The back light is also changed. Therefore the conclusion is that 05 and 06 models are more different rather than just lights. Atlas honda web site has a full section on new city with pictures and specs etc.

So cheer up man, models do change.

Thanks for prompt replies and dear mics420, I appreciate your optimistic thinking. Thats what my dad said exactly the same words. Enjoy what you have purchased now and after some time go for civic or corolla rather than try to amend things in this one.

No worries, I guess it happened with many people and not just with me so its part of the game.

    Cheers.

    Hey ppl!
If that's the case, could u ppl also tell whether the changes are worth the increase in price?
Are the older models(2005) still available?would it be a wise decision to get the older model instead, for arond 45000Rs lesser price and 0 own?
