Default Honda City: RPM not stable

OKay, all of a sudden, I've noticed that my Honda City RPM is fluctuating. It was'nt doing this three days ago, but for the past two days, when on idle i.e. not moving, standing on signals, the RPM fluctuates. With AC< it gets even worse, sometimes I think the car might have stalled as the RPM gets really low, and then shudders back up.

I recently got my car serviced from Honda Classic I-10, 40,000 KM service. And i recently got my car serviced from the pump.

is it possible that your fuel filter is blocked and the car is struggling to keep the RPM stable?

in some rare cases this also happens when the air filter is choked (completely).

worst case scenario is that the air sensor is on its way out.

fuel filter recently replaced by honda for 40K inspection. No water was sprayed on engine so no chance of water getting in.

And this just happened two days ago, previously it was okay.

if anything like cng tuning sensor cleaning etc doesnt work....then its gonna b the same thing that happened to my car( mine even vibrated at 1000rpms)... wat happened was that the intake pipes were loose,so the cng plus air mixture waqs leaking away...cause some really worse rpm drop nd vibration...

dude get the throttle body cheacked by an expert technician for IAC valve carbon deposits / also check that the air intake port is properly blocked for cng requires lean richer air mixture to perform at lower RPMs ... be sure that this is not a big problem as i m a city owner for 2 years ... not a big problem... which year is yr car of??

    Mr Luck&mani

you did not mention that which city you have ids, vario or steermatic & which fuel you are injecting petrol or CNG??

anyway if its steermatic or vario & on CNG so unfortunately you will keep facing this problem ,as

CNG & auto transmission are not good friends & eventually CNG kills the auto transmission by slow death.

you did not provide the complete information the same problem have different solutions with CNG & Petrol

Its a 2006 manual Honda City, no CNG.

The RPM is stable without AC. Need to fill up the gas tank today, lets see if the problem persists coz Im thinking it had something to do with fuel. Unfortunately, I have to use PSO, but lets see.

Most probably its because of Air Fuel Ratio. Check the throttle body to adjust air.
